The Completion of the Seven Days of Creation

You can read about the project. Eyob has been showing me the progress of this project as it has developed, including the first sketches. It is great to see the finished project. I might just have to go down 33rd street tomorrow to check it out.

7 Thoughts on “Art Club w/ Eyob Mergia

I think this falls in the same frame as when Eyob painted jazz musicians on the side of Great Plains Coffee and the Signage Police got their panties in a knot because it might be promoting a business that actually has live music. Instead of promoting a business that might have live music, he’s plastered popular fiction on the side of another business selling salvation to the masses. Same Shit, different mural.
Great job BTW. The scale is impressive… even if the message isn’t.

  2. Well, in defense of the art, I think churches (non-profits) fall under a different category, though I do understand where you are coming from.

I’m trying to visualize where this is. Is the project on the Augie campus?

  4. Yup!

  5. Nope. It is (I believe) All Saints Lutheran on 33rd South side of the street right beside Augie. Eyob’s paintings were made into mosaics.
