I found this picture the other day on FB, and it made me chuckle.
XTD was the ‘Hot’ street dance band of the day when I was in high school. Rob, the guy to the far right was from Parkston, my home town. I think Rob is actually the super of the Parkston school district now and was invited to DC for an education discussion with the president. WOO-HOO.
This was there big cover of the day.
I believe their big cover of the day was by Tommy James, not Billy Idol. You’d have known that of course if you were an old fart like me. 😉

perhaps they “covered” the billy idol version, not the tommy james version. but that picture. good lord!!!!
Exactly.
I’m proud to say I never owned a pair of zuba pants or a Bum Equipment shirt.
Those pajamas for the street pants were all the rage at the West Valley Flea Market (now known as “Metropolitan Marketing”) when I lived in Encino. Whenever I saw anyone wearing them – I knew they were flea market shoppers.
Probably had pockets sewn into them to steal shit.
This is Rob Monson from the legendary band “XTD”. Man you people are ruthless! I am sure none of you wore anything you aren’t so proud of 20 some years ago! 🙂 We were just wearing what was “in”. The band had a great time together, and would probably still be playing if I hadn’t have had to go to the Gulf War! We did cover Billy Idol pretty well. It was a lot of fun in the late 80’s and early 90’s because there was SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC!
