20 Thoughts on “T Denny the athlete?

  1. I would like to know how much money has been spent to date by Sioux Valley/Sanford on T Denny ego boosting items such as name changes and bronze statues.

This gives the public the impression that T. Denny donated the entire complex.

    HE DID NOT.

Taxpayers have over $5 million dollars invested in the South Dakota Junior Football fields.

  3. Your $50 bottle of asprin in the hospital also helped pay for it.

  4. It is called the “SANFORD” Sports Complex…. I sincerely doubt the statue is the one thing giving someone the wrong idea.

BTW, I once heard Denny was a pretty good athlete back in his high school and college days. No idea if that is true or not… although it probably doesn’t matter one bit since the only thing people seem to care about is how often he exercises his wallet.

  5. I read in the star tribune that since kelby couldn’t buy the hospital up there, t-den is refusing to donate any more money to the u of m.

  6. And that is why we let him plaster his name all over this town, the only other name I see more is Lloyd construction banners and signs.

At one time it was estimated Sioux Valley Hospital system spent $4 million on the name change to Sanford. All for a Sanford and Kelby ego boost exercise…

If this is true, it would be the second time the University of Minnesota system rebuffed T. Denny.

Before he showed up in our state, he offered U of M 35 million for a new Gopher Stadium, IF they would name it after him. They sent him packing!

Remember the Sanford sign stunt over right field at Target Field? That was a sign of a short lived second coming of things to come. Luckily, Minnesota once again played the part of the lone parent, when it comes to sound public policy in our region, by stopping the Sanford crowd from attempting to own all of the health care systems throughout the northern plains and further squelching competition.

  10. Point of order: Sanford health is a major sponsor of the Twins and has there logo plastered all over that stadium.

  11. Winston. Thank You.

LJL. Hate the Twins. Even this sports fan knows the greatest baseball team to ever place their presence on this earth is the St. Louis Cardinals.

    Poly, back my ass up.

  12. ‘non’ Sports Fan

  13. Well Mr non sports fan. How can you dismiss the Twins of the mid sixties? TONY OLIVA, Harmon Killebrew, Bob Allison, Zoilo Versailles, Camilo Pasqual, Rod Carew? Come on l3wis? What rock have you been vegetating under?

  14. Poly’s correct and the late 80s/early 90s Twins teams were also pretty damn good.

I thought everybody had a Twins Homer Hanky!!! 87 Twins WS champs. Puckett, Herby, Gaetti, Blyleven, et. al.

  16. The Twinkies should be thanking the Cards for letting them beat them in their first WS win. Besides, the Cards WS trophy case was becoming quite crowded.

  17. Cards suck. They just whomped by beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. What was this thread about again?

The Twins only know how to win World Series games at home. They have never won one on the road. In fact, they lost the 1965 World Series to the Dodgers, while at home, but then they were up against Sandy Koufax too….

I am sure the loud Dome played a big part in their 1987 and ’91 wins. In 1965, Metropolitan stadium just did not give them the edge they needed against Koufax. When they built the Dome, it was designed to benefit the Vikings, but instead it benefited the Twins….
