Mayoral and City Council Installation Ceremony, 2 PM

Informational Meeting, 4 PM

April Financial Report (this has NOT been posted online yet) & Audit review of Motor Vehicle Fee Revenue

Regular Council meeting, 7 PM

This is the first council meeting for the new administration and new council.

Item#1, Consent Agenda

Levitt Shell is getting $184K for professional services. No idea what those services are for but this is turning into a real money sponge for the consultants. How hard is it to move some dirt, plant some trees and build an outdoor stage?

The convention center is building quite the kitchen for a cool million.

Item #31, I guess we got $500K laying around in the entertainment tax fund, got to fix up that kitchen.

Item#32-34, Leadership Election and operations committee appointment.

I’m not sure how this will shake down, but it seems pretty certain Erickson will be the next chair. It also looks like Starr will have the support for vice-chair. I’m not sure who will join the operations committee, but I hope it is Stehly and I hope the first order of business is to have the meetings in the open.

One Thought on “Sioux Falls City Council Agenda, May 15, 2018

  1. Shouldn’t we fix the siding before we fix the kitchen? Doesn’t siding maintain the integrity of the structure, while a redo of the kitchen is mostly cosmetic?

And where did we get this money, from the enhanced property tax proceeds due to hyper inflation with the value of median priced homes in the past year? Most likely, huh?…. But did your wages get a hyper boost in the past year, too?….. Probably not, but don’t worry, because there is something cooking in the kitchen and you may not get any of it, but at least you’ll enjoy the pleasant aroma from others’ feasting, while you find yourself on the outside looking in and staring at that unpleasant siding as well…
