Newspapers and shopping tabloids have just about disappeared. This history will not repeat itself. Where can I find paper for my birdcage and to lay down when I paint.

Presses are to big for boat anchors. Maybe put them in a park, call them dinosaurs, and let kids crawl all over them.

Bezos saved the Washington Post and sent Shatner to space. Maybe the Argus’s printers should be sent to space and thus save the subscribers. Monday’s edition should be renamed the Weekly Reader. It’s based on thickness. The Sunday edition still looks like a paper. It’s like Grandma’s car only driven on Sundays. We can only pray. Else, play free press just once a week.

  4. The Argus has been in a tailspin for a few years. Most of their news is a day old. Too expensive for ad flyers so those are mostly online now. Their customer service stinks if you have billing questions or problems. Was outsourced to a country 12 hours difference in timezones so took 12-24 hours to get a response. Am glad I canceled a year ago.

Local events take 3 days to get into the Argus unless, of course, it is a commercial event where you are expected to purchase something. If they have reporters, they are unable to cover all the unexpected stuff. I’m not sure they have reporters anymore. After a day the important local stuff will be replaced by repeats of more commercial news… who’s having a sale, who’s having a show, where there is an expo or they’ll be sucking up to out-of-staters. Useless stuff. I know some elders keep hoping to keep a real local paper, but they’re fighting a losing battle because the real newspaper is gone for good. And… the electronic media isn’t much better.
