Talk About Random, Part II

So I got invited to a fireworks display at Homestead Brewery last night. Besides the beautiful sunset we also enjoyed the most delicious lamb chislic by Sheep Flockers steamed on a flat top with so much garlic your eyes watered.

No worries on the display, Cameraman Bruce captured it and I hope to have a video up in a few days! There was miniature mushroom clouds! No LIE!

I also heard this gentleman play at Book Coop Thursday(?) night? I can’t remember his name, but he is very young and has spiked blonde hair. Not sure the audio is working on the video. He has this incredible deep country voice and does mostly covers of old country roots tunes and current roots rockers. He uses his I-PAD to assist with lyrics and notes so he has a massive song list. If anyone can send me a link to use website, that would be super.

City of Sioux falls actually hires someone with experience for the new arts coordinator

Maren has a lot of experience as you can see from her LinkedIn and it varies in a lot of different ways. She also has experience in musical performance. As a visual artist, I will tell you, that musicians and singers have a lot in common with visual artists because our creative process works very similarly.

My only concern about the arts coordinator position has always been the same, I think this is just a way to control the public art in our community and turn it into a corporatist model like our park’s system and sponsorships.

We have already seen this when a private donor, Mr. Lime Green Lambo, gave money to paint a mural on the bunker ramp.

I will say it again, when the public funds public art, that process should be open, if it is not, it is no different then propaganda.

I think Maren is an excellent choice, unfortunately she will probably realize quickly that the lack of leadership at city hall will hamper her advancement, and she will be gone, like MOST of Poops directors and management.

I will give her one tidbit of advice. When you see the ship sinking, LEAVE, don’t try to fix it. You can’t.

Comical Campaign Material

A friend shared this postcard with me, a Republican running in District 13

I don’t know Mr. Hughes and have asked other legislators who he was, and they have no clue.

The material is littered with lies. Biden is not in control of hiring police officers for the city of Sioux Falls. And as I understand it, we are short officers, because our police chief has been cleaning house, and I APPLAUD him on it. I would much rather our city was short officers instead of having BAD officers.

Most illicit drugs are coming across our border in truck freight across LEGAL border crossings in California. In other words, starving, dirt poor migrants crossing the border in Texas are NOT transporting the drugs. DUH! Sophisticated drug dealers figured out a long time ago, this is how you transport drugs in our country.

It often amazes me when candidates spout their utter BS with no evidence to back it up. Has Biden F’d up on our border? YES! There needs to be a better system in place, but that is the job of CONGRESS, which last I checked was ran by the same party this yahoo belongs to.

Talk about random

So I get my hair cut at Southway Barbers on Minnesota Avenue, in fact, Mr. Specht has only cut my hair a few times. He took over the business from a lady who was my barber for almost 30 years. Micheal is a good barber, could be faster, but he likes to talk, and I enjoy our convos.

So I am sitting there as normal and all of sudden Don from Stormland TV shows up and asked if I wanted to get interviewed, and I was like, OK.

Like I said in the interview, it is ridiculous for the state to require Mr. Specht to have a a shampoo sink when he doesn’t shampoo hair. Give him the exemption. I have already reached out to a lawmaker about it, and so has Mr. Specht.

I still think it is comical they can deny a barbershop a license because he doesn’t have a service he DOESN’T provide. It would be like asking an ice cream shop to put in a overhead ventilation hood.
