I don’t think that pic of Huether in a tank was meant to connect him to the armed forces nor was it intended to make mockery of or minimize the contributions of our soldiers and servicemembers. Rather it is a parody of the famous picture of Michael Dukakis (same photo actually just with face replaced) trying the same stunt… and it wrecked him politically. This is also a perfect reflection of the “Streisand Effect”, which several people have pointed out to me. He will regret not laughing with these.

From the beginning of this SubPrime should have helped the joke and had fun with it. Now everyone who ever competes against him for whatever he does the rest of his life will know how to get under his skin. He has made himself a laughing stock.
Like thirsty Marco Rubio, he should have sold mugs for charity. If he had joined the joke, Huethering would already be gone. For a ‘smart’ marketing man he sure is dumb.
Not being able to laugh at one’s self is a window into one’s psyche.
Like a good salesman, he keeps his mouth flapping without engaging his brain.
