It seems Dean was getting so good at endorsing city council candidates over the past week, he decided to take a stab at endorsing other things in our community. Besides, this was the same city councilor that won a CMA on a recent council junket, who wouldn’t listen to his endorsements?
Here are Dean’s submitted endorsements;
“Best Mayor of the Past 6 years; Mike Huether”
“Best local insurance agency; Dean Karsky Agency”
“Best county commission to run for office for; Minnehaha County”
“Best idea for a political yard sign; Re-Elect Dean Karsky”
“Best city councilor to endorse other city councilors; Dean Karsky”
“Best place to get a can of malt liquor; Not in Dean Karsky’s neighborhood”
“Best Events Center in Sioux Falls; Denny Sanford Premier Center”
“Best elected position to serve in for six years and do virtually nothing except breath and show up; Sioux Falls city council”

South DaCola voter turnout prediction, 9 percent.

After watching the absentee voting numbers over the past week and the lack of enthusiasm from the media or the city on the upcoming election, I figured I picked a good number. Up until this point I figured it would be between 8-12%.
The city announced today at the informational they will be mailing a precinct voting location postcard out to the eligible voters “Sometime between Friday and Monday”.
How long have they known about this election? And they mail out a card that close to the election?
I give up.

Srstka & Fenner get endorsements, Briggs is confused

Vote GOAT this April 12th!

While I think the Staggers’ endorsement was good for the Stehly campaign, I wonder if a Karsky endorsement holds much weight (He also endorsed Noble and Selberg). As I have pointed out since he has announced he is running for county commission, one of the most ineffective councilors in recent history.

Fenner was publicly endorsed by former Mayor Hanson (he also sent out a fundraiser letter for Tammy).

Expect Pat Starr to get an endorsement tomorrow also.

In other candidate news Briggs Warren got his wires crossed in the forum today on the Argus. Candidates were asked what decision they would applaud the Mayor on and which ones they disagreed with. Briggs commended him on the youth free bus rides. The mayor was actually very opposed to the program. Councilors Jamison and Erickson spearheaded that program. But Briggs did chastise the mayor on the lack of transparency the administration has shown in the Events Center siding settlement.
