Sounds like Amazon here will be not only a distribution center but also a destruction location. Products returned are defective or not often worth repairing. What’s disgusting is destroying unsold products in original packaging. There’s a secondary return and overstock auction market here that would be more business, jobs, and sales tax locally.
The thought of the UK being big enough to have an Amazon warehouse or even dump sites is amazing to me. Where do these smaller countries put all of this stuff? Have you ever noticed that Amazon never talks about building a warehouse in Rhode Island? They couldn’t, because it would incapsulate the entire state leaving towns and villages to be inundated with forklift and robotic cart traffic jams. #WhereAreTheSunLights?
Do you remember the movie: ‘Cold Turkey’ (1969)?…. And especially its closing scene, where a small town in Iowa is awarded a brand new polluting factory by a visiting president who resembles Tricky Dick – which meant jobs and new opportunities – after the entire town quit smoking for an entire month?…. So, beware of big things coming to your town…. And why do you think that other project was once called the “Gorilla Project”, too?

Perhaps, the Tea Storm Chasers could acquire some of these disposable iPads, and other worthy gadgets, to sell for a fundraiser. Personally, I’d take a scratched, but new, iPad over some stale donuts from Omaha any day.
Every time I’ve had a problem with a product from Amazon, they’ve promptly sent me a replacement and told me to just keep the one damaged during shipping.
Who paid for the replacement, I don’t know.
They could back charge UPS or the manufacturer or just eat it.
This all sounds like Prime garbage to me.
