They do the EXACT opposite, so I am guessing Dusty is opposed?

While there are thousands of legitimate reasons to not build this Data Center, I am opposed to my electrical rates going up. Full stop. This decision by the council is one of the worst since it hurts individual’s personal finances.

I see MAGA Mattress guy Chris Larson has been on TV and social media as a self-appointed spokesperson on this petition drive. That’s enough to make me run the other way, regardless of how I feel about this issue.

Funny, I know Chris but we have never spoken. I have contacted many folks of all political stripes to get behind this as a uniting nonpartisan issue, so I guess it’s working. I would much rather see citizens get along on an issue instead of being divided, I want to see our council divided so they stop harming us. This will affect every citizen in the state and must be stopped.
as usual, dusty issues a statement that says nothing and straddles the fence. he is a master at being both for and against something at the same time.

Strange bedfellows, indeed!
No stranger bedfellows than me contrasted with the person who facilitated my signature to the petition.
She had to be thinking, “why is this straight-laced and boring-looking, likely politically conservative boomer walking up to me?” (By self-identifying, I am going to avoid the risk of my characterization of her age and appearance).
I didn’t think twice about it and she enthusiacally gained my signature and reviewed other ways in which I could assist the cause.
Despite clear differences in generation and age; likely a difference in political ideology, we are unified in a single ideal – that of expecting and requiring transparent and forthright governance which is responsive to the constituents; not beholden to special interests.
Regardless the person bringing the clipboard to you, please sign the petition and help the cause in any other way that you can.
Well said Guy! I think the city council/mayor’s long-term lack of transparency in nearly everything they do is something R’s and D’s can both get behind.
Dusty is one of those guys who is against the war before he is for it (Or, was that the City Center?). 😉
Remember, too, that Dusty was the guy who wanted to get the “Clowns” out of the Republican House caucus, but then he went and personally nominated Jim Jordan for Speaker…. #WTF?

Rapid City voted down the big TIF for the giant playground. Why shouldn’t all major projects require a public vote? We’re Home Rule but not yet Autocracy. The best way to control development is public oversight. This is not Trump. It’s still a semblance of democracy.
