It’s okay to launder money as long as you are saving babies?

Untitled-1

Another letter writer says ‘screw the law’ as long as we are ‘saving babies.’

I am appalled by the Argus Leader’s continued harassment of state Rep. Roger Hunt to divulge the name of his client who generously gave money to protect unborn babies in South Dakota.

Harrasment? It’s called reporting the news. If anything, the Gargoyle isn’t covering this story enough.

Most of us in South Dakota do not think it is OK to kill babies.

I would think 100% think it is not OK to kill babies, that’s my guess. However, a majority of South Dakotans have voted twice to give women the choice on whether to end a pregnancy. I have said that South Dakotans sometimes vote pro-choice because they are sick of the secrets and lying from the pro-life movement. Maybe if you movement practiced a little honesty and openness, like revealing donor names, more people would take up your cause. I’m just saying.

Please, people, stop writing letters about your BFF running for office

These letters really get annoying;

Sioux Falls has a rare opportunity in the upcoming mayoral election in candidate Mike Huether. I’ve known Mike for more than 25 years and respect his leadership, candor and stewardship. These are qualities that Sioux Falls will need as we look to the future.

Whoopy shit. I have known my mom my whole life, maybe we should vote for her. Why do people think testimonial letters from friends help get people elected, especially when there isn’t any honesty in them?

Mike demonstrated his effectiveness as a leader by helping to build an organization that employs more than 1,500 people in Sioux Falls. He demonstrated leadership as a director of The Banquet, working with others from that great organization to deliver services to our neighbors.

So it’s important to mention the Banquet, but not important to mention First Premier. Maybe because some of the people eating at the Banquet racked up debt from having a FP Credit Card?

I want to thank Mayor Dave Munson and his wife Linda for their service to the citizens of Sioux Falls.

This sentence alone tells us we shouldn’t take this person’s word on electing anybody.

Did Brown win in Mass because liberals are pissed about the POS Healthcare bill being proposed?

One wonders?

In a private meeting in the Capitol just now, a dozen or more House liberals bluntly toldNancy Pelosi that there was no chance that they would vote to pass the Senate bill in its current form — making it all but certain that House Dems won’t opt for this approach, a top House liberal tells me.

Of course, the Republicans have been spinning this like crazy, saying that some Democrats don’t support the bill for the same reasons they don’t, socialized medicine, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. A majority of Americans have said it should include a public option. Some polls were as low as 51% and some as high as 69% in support of the public option. I think they need to start from scratch and they should include two provisions (one that is a Republican idea and one that is a Democratic idea).

• Tax refunds for private insurance premiums, &

• A public option that ANY American can buy into and pay premiums thru payroll taxes

Without either one of those options, there really isn’t any reform. Reform should affect ALL Americans, not just the very poor or the very rich.
