From my email box;

Hey everybody,

Around two months ago, I commenced a weekly music podcast entitled The Ledge (http://theledge.mevio.com). Along with links on my site (http://scotthudson.blogspot.com), and the usual self-promotion on twitter and facebook, I’ve been added to the lineup at http://realpunkradio.com. Most of these shows have had themes, including power pop, postpunk, and covers.

At the Cracker show the other night, a few of us were talking about my show, and one of the ideas that we drunkenly came up with was a show centered around local music. While a good portion of the selections are fairly obvious, thirty years of bad behavior has resulted in some faulty memory. I’m calling upon my fellow music fanatics for some suggestions – not only for bands but tracks that I should consider. I’m also in need of some of these tracks, particularly those that were never released in a digital format (attention, Mr. Scarbrough!). It would also be fun to possibly add some commentary from some of you fine people.

If this works out as planned, this could be a multi-part project. My dream would be three separate shows, each one devoted to a different decade. Besides some fun reminiscing about the old days, I believe the affiliation with realpunkradio could help prove that even our little cow town has had some musical moments worth preserving. As you may expect, however, I plan on sticking to my elitist indie rock/punk/garage/etc. standards, so don’t even think about suggesting certain local would-be pop stars that I will refrain from mentioning in this email. 🙂

There’s no real time frame for this project. Hell, the individual episodes don’t even have to run on consecutive weeks. I just want to begin the process of compiling music and interview segments.

Thanks,
Scott
