Beginning on the first of the year, all SD taxpayers will see their wages DECREASE by 2% when the Social Security tax rate will jump from 4.2% to its original rate of 6.2%. Now this? A penny. A penny there. Gas prices here. Food prices there. A justin bieber ticket here. A britney spears ticket there. Yep. We’re flush with disposable income, just like RL 14 and IM 15 suggest we are.
Main street Mom and Pop knows that South Dakota is still in a recession, this tax will be a regression.
If it passes I will lose all faith in SD voters.
I thought democrats wanted this thing passed…I mean it’s for the kids and the poor right? Think of the children and the poor who need their healthcare for crapsakes!!! Can’t a brother spare a penny?
t denny contributed $300,000 to try and get this thing passed. avera the same. If this penny were to truly help the elderly in retirement issues I’d be on board. But near as I can tell, this is a penny of corporate welfare so denny can put his name on another sports complex.

If Kelby and T Denny needed this measure to survive they would not currently have the money to build sports complexes or put their name on other edifices.
