UPDATE II: Secret, Secret, Secret, RAMROD!

UPDATE II: Bravo to Warren Phear for digging up this Argus Leader story from a year ago. Apparently they released the names of the interested parties back than.

So what really was the administration trying to keep from us? But what is even more ironic is that the AL had this information for almost a year and apparently didn’t check the archives 🙂

Asking why Huether is a closed government advocate is like asking why the sky is blue. We know the answer to the question, yet we still struggle with why it has to be that way;

Sioux Falls officials are refusing to provide the identities of developers in the running for the first phase of the rail yard redevelopment project downtown.

I’m getting to the point, that I don’t even want to talk about it anymore. It is what it is. Lies, schemes, scams, boondoggles, etc. etc.

I will bet you though that Legacy Development is on that list, and that is why Heather and the city are pulling excuses from their rear ends.

Isn’t it ironic that while Huether is setting up his ‘legacy’ he keeps promoting ‘Legacy’.

UPDATE: Shocker! Legacy is one of the developers!

Of the six development firms who responded to the city’s request for qualifications for the rail yard redevelopment project, four are local to Sioux Falls: Lloyd Companies, Legacy Developments, Eighth and Railroad Center and Pender Cherapa. The other two submitters were Inland Development Partners of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Philadelphia-based development firm Smart Visions.

The funny part is that I have known for years Eighth and Railroad Center has been interested in developing this property since they border it. It’s not like Lloyd being interested in the property is some big secret either. Huether keeping the developers ‘secret’ is like saying he also knows Santa Claus isn’t real either, but isn’t going to tell anyone.

The Huether method would be acceptable if we were potheads. Then, we’re willing to drink the Kool-Aid if he serves it with a pork sandwich slider for $15k. This state needs legal marijuana so we can regard politics as just a bad trip.

Heather Hitterdal: “All we are attempting to do is streamline communications so that all media outlets receive all the correct information regarding a project all at the same time,” she said. Straight out of the Sarah Huckster Scandalbee handbook of public administration spin. It’s all good & noble to run the city like a business and nurture & protect the competitive bidding process. . . but turn around and deny the press the opportunity to compete fairly and openly by allowing the sharpest journos access to info when their initiative & analysis drive them to research and excel. No. “We’ll control the flow of information until after the fact to ensure we can sculpt & sanitize it to fit our agenda, whereby ensuring all the media spoon feed the same propaganda to all the good sheeple.”

Scott, I will see your bet, and raise by a one day free pass to the indoor tennis courts, that not only is legacy one of the bidders, but has already been awarded the contract.

Help me understand this. Dated nearly a year ago.

Huether has alienated the public from inner circle Gentry. You know, the ones with box seats at the Denty. Soon, a Legacy election to build a wall for locking alien Huether out. Take us to our new leaders.

Legacy (def.)
Money and property awarded to someone.
Obsolete software or hardware that should be replaced.

I dug nothing up. Was simply following a discussion on Pat Starr’s facebook page. Read it. I’m confused.

Whatever happen to ‘Boomerang Development?’

#12 Warren Phear on 02.18.18 at 6:25 pm

There appears to be a lot of confusion about, interested parties in the RFQ process, the parties that were selected from the RFQ process, and then the secret committee that selects the winner through the RFP process. The article from nearly a year ago only told us who the interested parties are in the RFQ process.

From that article last year.

“Kethcam said the next step is determining whether the applicants are qualified and then ask the six to submit concept plans.”

That is the last we heard until late this week. What we know now is that a secret committee has already made its selection through the RFP process. The secrecy part is what we the public have found out since last March.
1) Who of the six met the RFQ standards?
2)When was the RFP process started?
3) Who are the secret members of the RFP committee?

They are about to tell us the winner or winners of the RFP process, and we have heard nothing since a year ago?

Can you believe the audacity of Jolene Letcher?? The pageant queen wannabe is on Facebook taking credit for forcing the city to release the developer list. What a crock!

#14 The D@ily Spin on 02.19.18 at 10:49 am

Wasn’t Boomerang a paper corporation to hide Legacy? Isn’t it true that the golf contract went to Huether’s buddy just across the river from Yankton?

Closed government aka Dictatorship

Somebody recently told me also that they were at City Hall last week and saw Aaron Hultgren walking out of the mayor’s office. He wasn’t carrying a black garbage bag, so that is a positive sign 🙂

#17 "Very Stable Genius" on 02.19.18 at 3:19 pm

He’s probably just a “coffee boy.”

#18 scott on 02.19.18 at 5:23 pm

if you look at jolene’s facebook ads, she has a way of making every event about her. you’d think the women’s march was a campaign rally for jolene.

#19 Joe on 02.20.18 at 8:21 am

No kidding Scott!
