Will a major merger be announced on Monday in Sioux Falls?

Just when we thought the big announcement was Amazon there is another one brewing in Sioux Falls. I wasn’t going to say anything because I figured it was going to be headlines on Stormland TV last night. I guess not, but enough peeps have been blowing it in my ear, and it sounds like the announcement could be as soon as Monday, so I will give you a teaser.

So here is what I will give you, and you can draw your own conclusions (please, feel free to comment, but I will delete any comments that mention either party). A major healthcare provider in Sioux Falls is planning a ‘Merger’ (not an all out sale) with another major provider. The kicker is that the other provider is NOT local, they are not even regional. They are from a western mountain state.

But this is where the news gets juicy, while I have heard the name of the system that wants to merge with the Sioux Falls system, I was a little taken back. They are owned by a large religious organization, and let’s just put it this way, it’s not Catholics or Protestants (or even Jews).

If the merger happens, and all the parties I have been told that are involved are truly involved, healthcare in Sioux Falls is going to look very different a year from now.

Oh, and probably expect more people knocking at your front door 🙂

I have a very good source on this, that the columnist John Anderson would be proud of. Apparently, the other health care system is already making major layoffs because our local health care system will be the dominant one. This merger could also involve a new branding of the local, since internal communications involving the merger include only the symbol and not the brand name of the local entity. Perhaps, it will be like when K-Mart bought Sears and became Sears, or when Norwest Corporation bought Wells Fargo and then they became Wells Fargo.

If it becomes a battle between the Catholics and the Mormons in this town, then what is a Christian, I mean a Lutheran, to do?

Regardless ‘which’, a lot more than healthcare is going to look very different in Sioux Falls a year from now if other than a ‘merger’.
Makes total sense from standpoint of footprint.
The devil may well be in the details of marriage of business culture.

“‘John’?”….. “‘Jack’, my friend”….

So this merger comes down to a series of questions.

With all the fraud investigations going on with the local firm, is this merger being done to bill under the other company’s billing authority since the local firm is on verge of losing the capability to invoice?

If the logo stays but name doesn’t, who is going to be running the operation since the local firm may still be under criminal investigation?

If the logo stays and the name doesn’t, does this mean the public benefactor of the local firm will be out of the picture from now on?

Does this mean the current leadership has a questionable future financially, criminally or freedom to roam the streets?

The possibilities of hurting Sioux Falls in a way not intended when the current manager was brought in years ago with the main goal of shutting down the main competitor. My how the mighty can…

If this merger does happen with who I think, it would make sense, they are the closer competitor in size and scope as the one in SF. I also looked into their stats, the average pay in the system is $45K a year, which isn’t much better here. South Dakota in fact ranks 49th in the nation for nursing pay.

Perhaps, the special underwear attracted the locals – and without one of them involved – it shouldn’t be a problem, but more of a protection rather. #WhosGotMyCellphone? #MormonCagefighting

It will be exciting to have a local entity identify with an other organization, which has been treating people of color with equality as far back as 1978.

Cuz, they were way ahead of Mississippi, which didn’t ratify the 13th Amendment to outlaw slavery until 1995.

Also, Donny and Marie can become the new ribbon cutters, since old white men are no longer in vogue. #ThanksAlotTrump

They are also known to have “binders full of women”, too. But so did Hefner. #BedPan&SpecialUnderwareDilemmas

(“Trump is a fraud”…. “But on second thought, I am willing to be his Secretary of State”…. #WhatAMerger #MergerReality )

So Woodstock, are you part of the “cancel culture?”

#13 "Woodstock" on 10.24.20 at 7:05 pm

“Commissioner,”

“I don’t ‘cancel’ anyone, rather I prefer to just fly over them, if you know what I mean”…. “And statutes have been great practice for years”…. “I guess I’ll just have to replace more of them with real politicians now”…. “Oops!”… (“I can’t believe a real commissioner is acknowledging me”… “I can’t wait to tell Granny”….))

Every merger that involves our SF Hospital system “X” winds up with the outsider group getting overwhelmed, lower wages for all, and fleeing doctors.

When they failed to merge with a Iowa provider, it was reported that the Iowa provider found our locals to be a bunch of swashbucklers. I wonder if Mormon swashbucklers wear eye batches, too, but don’t pirates usually go commando as well? #WheresYourSpecialUnderware?

The city should have built a taxpayer 6-story Parking Blunder in case this doesn’t happen.

New name, same logo, Kelby takes a lower post, statues will quietly come down.

Inter mountains, a merger, a logo, it sounds like a Brokeback Mountain deal to me.

“Mr. Kelbychev!”….. “Tear down those statutes!”….

I may be over reacting, but, this doesn’t feel like a great deal for the little folk who work for Sanford?
