The hits keep coming;

In the lawsuit, IJK, LLC, a limited liability company managed by Kant, alleges that he was forced out of Eastwold in violation of the terms of the lease. The lease agreement that Kant signed with CLP Investments, the company that bought the Copper Lounge, allowed the building owner to terminate the lease in the event Eastwold was damaged, but only if 75 percent of the premises was untenantable.

I wondered when this suit was coming. As I understand it there was little damage to the Eastwold building after the collapse. The Eastwold building is actually a separate building from the building that collapsed.

  1. Has anybody looked into the “washed out” brick being used on the new building on that site? I don’t remember that look being in the original renderings approved by the board… Perhaps I missed it.

  2. had the copper lounge not collapsed, would’ve eastwold been part of the lewis building or was it to be separate?

  3. The lady who owned the nice black Mercedes, which was parked out in front of the Copper Lounge, should sue Legacy too, if she hasn’t already. Or, would that be Hultgren, who should be sued?…. Legacy and Hultgren, or Hultgren and Legacy, what is really the difference? It’s like a dog chasing its own tail….. all the way to Aberdeen…

  4. It’s nonsense to get involved with Legacy. Their pending unresolved legal issues should be enough to back out of contracts. The NEW council and HONORABLE Mayor should make this their first matter of business.

  5. WRONG, I wondered the same thing. I also like the wood rafters and framing they were using.

    scott, it would have been separate. Remember, the original plan was ONLY Lewis, than after the collapse and the removal of Eastwold all of sudden Sanford has a clinic in there. Hmmmmm.
