The Motherload

Elitist!

Didn’t they have a scarf with elephants at Neiman Marcus?

Why would America’s favorite hockey mom wear a neck tie that screams DEMOCRAT????

For the $150,000 the RNC spent on wardrobe for Sarah Palin and her family, you’d think they could have found something that coordinated better. I’m sure Wal-Mart had something a little more politically correct, but who would buy their clothes there? Sarah proved she shops at the big W, but only for diapers.

Sarah Palin has a problem. She says out of one side of her mouth “Wal-Mart moms unite in pride”. But sorry, that’s not good enough for Sarah.

Powell endorses Obama

“I think he is a transformational figure, he is a new generation coming onto the world stage, onto the American stage, and for that reason I’ll be voting for Sen. Barack Obama,” Powell said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“Obama displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge,” Powell said.

“He has met the standard of being a successful president, being an exceptional president,” he said.

I wonder how long it will take the McCain campaign to smear Powell when he spoke of Obama being a Christian:

Powell, who served as Secretary of State for President George W. Bush, said he was also “troubled what members of the Republican party” have said along the lines of , “We know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim.”

First off, Powell said, Obama is a Christian. But more to the point, he said, “is there something wrong with being a Muslim?” He worried about the message the GOP was sending to a hypothetical 7-year-old Muslim American who thinks he can grow up and be president some day.

History making. This is what this election has been called in many ways. The glass celling has been shattered. How inspiring for Americans to be able to feel as they may have when they were 7-years-old, when someone told them, “you can be anything. Even president of the United States of America.”

Are You Pro-America?

Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmannwas on Hardball yesterday and tried to discredit Obama once again by calling his associations as “Anti-American”.

Mathews kept her seat on fire by asking:

How many Congresspeople, members of Congress are in that anti-American crowd you describe?

Bachmann had a hard time once she was backed into a corner but managed to insinuate the elected officials she severs with might be anti-American.

I would say, what I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look — I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think the people would love to see an expose like that.

I believe a congresswoman going on national tv spewing a politics of fear and loathing and demonization and division and distraction is Anti-American. Bachmann thinks that anyone who disagrees with her personal political agenda is unpatriotic. But she is the one who has a lot to learn about what it means to love America.

Health of the Mother

John McCain’s Debate explanation when Obama explian’s his voting record on abortion.

“Health of the Mother… this has been stretched by the pro-abortion movement to mean almost anything.”

Sound Familiar? Vote Yes For Life has been trying this angle once again, in claiming the exceptions for the health of the mother are clearly defined within Initiated Measure 11. They are really hoping you won’t read the fine print (or understand it).

But it seems clear to the lawyers for Sanford Health:

“The health-of-the-mother exception imposes a standard that is not clearly defined. Medical facilities and providers have learned, through the malpractice arena, that whether a physician’s clinical judgment comports with ‘accepted standards of medical practice’ can be a matter of debate. Initiated Measure 11 borrows the civil litigation standards, which can be ambiguous and subject to different interpretations, and attaches criminal penalties for failing to comply with the potentially vague, undefined standards. As a result, for those instances where a pregnant woman faces uncertain, but potentially very serious health risks, Initiated Measure 11 will require a physician to choose between possibly committing a felony or subjecting a pregnant woman to a higher degree of medical risk that what would otherwise be clinically desired.

Mr. McCain, with all due respect, no one is pro abortion. We all would like to see abortion to be limited, but until those trying to stop it (VYFL) do not do it in a truthful manner, and to contradict themselves in saying “All life is precious”, yet are flip about “the health of the mother”, you My Friend, are selling us lipstick on a pig.
