According to this poll, Johnson’s poll numbers went up 1% after he announced he would not debate.

75% of people polled did not think debates were not very important to them and that his decision would not determine their vote.

What does this mean? Does it mean the people of South Dakota really like Tim Johnson and are happy with his work since his return? Does it mean Joel Dykstra hasn’t raised any issues why voters should vote for him, besides the fact that Johnson will not debate, which according to this poll 75% of the people think it’s not very important? Is it a combo of both? Is is something else? Is it a bad poll?

What are your thoughts, why didn’t Dykstra see a bump from the Johnson is not debating news?

4 Thoughts on “New Poll: Johnson 61%-Dykstra 34%

  1. This poll just shows that South Dakotans don’t give a lick about silly debates and would rather focus on the issues in this campaign – energy, health care, etc. We know Tim, we like what he’s doing for this state in the Senate, and that is why we’ll re-elect him in November.

  2. Though I wouldn’t vote for Joel in a million years I will admit that it just proves how apathetic people in SD are about this race. I would have thought people would have wanted them to debate, but hey whadda I know, I’m just a cartoonist.

We’re apathetic, and Johnson hasn’t done anything we don’t agree with. Plus, pork tastes delicious.
I wonder if the endorsement from mayor McCheese has anything to do with it?

  4. I wonder who contacted who in that matter? Not sure if I would want Dave’s endorsement? I think Tim has been in DC so long he doesn’t realize that all the West River people hate SF and the most SF residents don’t even know what party Dave is in, heck I’m starting to wonder myself.
