Another Republican confused about people doing the right thing for no profit

This video made me laugh. Representative Blackburn (R-TENN) seems to be confused as to why Al Gore would be giving all of his profits away in his quest to fight global warming. The Shame. Because Republicans go by the motto, “If you can’t make money at it, it’s not worth doing.” Gee, wonder why they are not in power anymore.

Yeah that’s a good observation. To someone generally lacking the empathy chip, this must be very vexing. Didn’t (Our Lord and Savior) Ronald Reagan teach us that all one needs to do to be a good citizen is click ones heels or curtsy at the proper symbolic cues, and burn every last calorie in order to make oneself rich and/or richer? Anything that falls outside of that simple (and simplistic) formula is highly suspect. Hence the snide term “limousine liberal”–“Why aren’t the Kennedys on board with the repeal of the ‘death tax’?” A Republican might ask. “It just doesn’t add up.”
