Big PARTAY in the barn Doogard built with his bare hands

Come on over, my buddy Ironic Johnny will be there to. Heck, we might even do his Christmas card photo shoot in the barn!

Republican big shots will be on hand at Dennis Daugaard’s farm this Saturday for a fundraiser to help the state party. The party will be held Saturday evening in Daugaard’s barn near Garretson, the same place that he kicked off his campaign for governor.

Daugaard will be there, as will Sen. John Thune. The money they help raise will likely go to help the state party keep the lights on and fund down-ballot races, particularly in the state Legislature.

Is Rounds still lying about his state airplane fleet?

“When lying, do it with a wink and a smile.”

In response to my letter in the June 25 Argus Leader, Gov. Mike Rounds called me a liar in his letter in the July 10 Argus Leader. In my letter I stated federal transportation money was used to buy state airplanes. In his letter, Rounds said, “No federal transportation money has ever been used to buy state planes.” Governor, have you read the Oct. 21, 2007, Argus Leader article explaining the state’s 2007 purchase of a 1999 King Air 90 airplane for $1.9 million and its 2005 purchase of a 1995 King Air 90 for $1.5 million and how the $23 million of Amtrak reimbursement money the state received in 1997 helped in the purchase of those planes? Now that I’ve got your attention, governor, what happens to the Governor’s Club money when you leave office? How many planes does the state own and how much have we paid for them? What else, if anything, has the state done with the $23 million of Amtrak reimbursement money that was received?

It doesn’t surprise me that he continues to fib about the planes, what surprises me is that people continue to believe his bullshit.

The first step to getting rich? Get the taxpayers to pay for your propaganda.

While I think books like this are silly (the quickest way to get rich in America is to screw people over – and our mayor would know all about this previously working for one of the worst predatory CC companies in the nation) I am even more surprised he gave this ‘gift’ to his fellow lawmakers on the taxpayer’s dime;

Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether has recommended some reading to the city council. Huether gave members of the City Council each a copy of the book “The Millionaire Next Door,” a book he’s given often as a gift, he said during a City Council meeting Monday. The book summarizes findings from research into the key characteristics that explain how the elite club of millionaires have become “wealthy,” according to amazon.com

Huether signed each book with the inscription, “Thank you for helping me balance ‘progress with prudence.’ “

City money was used to pay for the book, Huether said.

Um, am I missing something here? You talk about prudence, then you turnaround and buy a self-help book with my tax dollars? If you think this is such a great (personal) read, pony up. You didn’t have a problem with spending $240,000 dollars on beating a good man into the ground, so why would $100 bucks of your own dough hurt you, especially after signing a book that you didn’t write?

Hubris?! MY GOD!
