The Pavilion still ‘Strangely Silent’ about the recent turnover

The Washington Pavilion still has not ‘publicly’ said why their development director suddenly left. And while the curator left because of another job opportunity, one wonders why she wanted ‘out’.

I have heard many, many versions as to why this turnover has happened, but since I don’t have an attorney on retainer, unless someone from Pavilion management is willing to go on record with me, I will keep the rumors and gossip to myself.

But the one question still remains. Why does a non-profit like the Pavilion, who receives subsidies from the city, the state and the Feds refuse to say ‘anything’ about the recent disappearance of their Development Director? No press releases, no replacement ads, nothing, zilch.

I encourage anyone who is either a member of the Pavilion, or knows any of the directors, to ask them in person, or drop them a line. Why all the secrecy?

South DaCola ‘Thumbs Up’ to County Auditor Bob Litz

Thought I would never say that? Huh? Bob is my new hero for getting a second opinion about the monopoly Dougherty and Company seem to have on bonds, not only in our county and city, but also for our state;

While Litz’s approach of basically shopping around the county’s business is a bit unusual, he made a point when he said his job is to be responsible for the taxpayer.

Unusual, HE IS THE COUNTY AUDITOR! It is his job to make sure the county, and ultimately the taxpayers are not getting ripped off. But of course, this is coming from an ED board that has it’s heads so far up the elite’s asses in this town, it is not even funny anymore.

The bigger question here my be, “Has Dougherty been giving taxpayers a fair shake all along on bond sales?” Remember, Dougherty gets a COMMISSION on bond sales, not a flat fee. Think about that one.

Walmart & Lloyd companies, a winning team

How can Walmart lose when they have Lloyd going to bat for them;

The Sioux Falls Planning Commission approved a preliminary site plan that includes a new Walmart Supercenter on the southwest corner of 85th Street and South Minnesota Avenue. The five to one vote happened after more than three hours of debate over site plan and commercial property zoning at the proposed site.

Head commercial realtor for Lloyd Companies, Raquel Blount said during public testimoney,

“Some people think a big company like Walmart just comes to town and gets to do what they want.(sic)”

Pretty much, and with the help of your employer, it seems to be a done deal. I hope this neighborhood fights this to the end, no matter how bloody it gets. It is time to not only send a message to Walmart but to Lloyd Companies. You can’t profit anymore from walking all over citizens and neighborhoods and we certainly are not going to subsidize your developments anymore either.
