3 Thoughts on “Sioux Falls City Council Agenda, Nov 27-28, 2018

City and county should be merged into one local government. The new City Admin Buiding is next to the courthouse. Government would be one space. The county manages budget better and there are no unproductive political appointments. County employment is no gravy train awaiting retirement. They’d lay off lazys and contract more private enterprise.

It’s successful elsewhere (ie Gwinnett County GA). City County meetings would be weekly and more productive. There would be more important subjects instead of just voting on temporary wine and beer permits.

  3. Perhaps, but who wants to go to Canton for local government? Seriously, Sioux Falls is now a four-county MSA (at least 25% of county population working in the included city). Any governmental cooperation needs to take more than Minnehaha County into account. Let’s not even mention the *seven* school districts that serve parts of Sioux Falls.
