I found this comment in an article on turkeyvulture605 interesting from a mayoral candidate;

“I’m glad I was wearing closed toe sandals,” she added. “Get your closed toe sandals. We know people who wear them are less likely to get it in a bad way and be hospitalized. I still think just the confusion among people is so great, it’s hard to correct at this point, especially if you are used to wearing open toe sandals.”

So which kind should you wear? It’s hard to know if you should sacrifice safety for being fashionable? Will Panera support a closed toe sandal mandate if she is elected? Where’s my right to show off my pretty painted toe nails?

  1. Ever have a turkey vulture drop a deuce on your car? It literally eats the paint in minutes. Federally-protected birds. Another sign of the apocalypse.

  2. I always look at people’s shoes. It tells me everything about them. Who they are, who they want to be, or what they used to be. I once explained my theory on shoes to a co-worker, who turned out to be a con-man who fled town without his family. I hope I didn’t help him on his way, however.

    AND many years ago, I attended a youth leadership conferenced in DC that was held at the State Department. Many were in attendance, but I especially couldn’t help but notice these guys there dressed in presentable suits but also sporting Chuck Taylors. Then, in the middle of the conference, some guys stood up and protested nuclear proliferation, and who do you think were the guys who stood up? That’s right. 😉
