UPDATE: I texted Jolene Loetscher yesterday and asked her if she new anything about him being deposed by the Sheriff and DCI during the 2018 campaign. She has not responded yet.

Mayor TenHaken was recently featured on the RESGEN Giving Life Podcast. From what I can guess, it is a business/religion podcast.

Paul touched on some different things throughout the entire podcast including that “He doesn’t love being mayor, but doesn’t hate it.” He says he had a calling from God to serve as mayor (another dude thinks that to) and there are days he wants to quit. He also compares himself to the bibilical character Jonah. He talks about mentoring and touches on something Bill Maher has been on a kick about, Men need to be Men.

But the big surprise was when Paul tells the host that he was deposed by the DCI in 2018 when he ran for office. He said there was ‘allegations’ made towards him they wanted to investigate. He never said what they were, but if I had to guess, it may have had to do with candidate Jolene Loetscher’s allegations that someone was breaking into her online bank accounts. The allegations were unfounded.

This is the first time I have heard this (maybe it came up during the campaign but I can’t remember). There was also his previous associations with the Marion Mike Rounds campaign (Doxxing) and the musical servers with Pat Powers’ blog.

  1. Donald Segretti would have loved doxxing. But with an Italian name like that, would he have had anytime for a Dutch Mafia? #Wannabees

  2. “Don’t call me about potholes”…. “‘He doesn’t love being mayor, but doesn’t hate it’… “….. “This place could use some culture and an art specialist”… Is there such a thing as passive aggressive arrogance?

  3. References to religion can be political suicide. Your faith is constitutionally protected but preaching and public policy must be separated. It sounds like he’s burned out. Huether left a mess. He’s done well restoring order. Especially financially.

  4. Big spending liberal PTH will still likely be Minnesota’s 3rd Dem US Senator despite that his skills as a digital spook were not applied to benefit US Senator Amy Klobuchar, nor US Senator Tina Smith.
Doubtful that Wye Spano or D.J. Leary had servers, so wouldn’t need those specialized IT services.

  5. “The DCI should have ‘raided’ his home for the ‘toolbox’.”

You are forgetting that this was Jackley’s DCI, most (in)famous for not finding their own arses whilst using both hands.
Couldn’t? (Incompetent) Or wouldn’t? (Fealty to the ruling establishment) You tell me. I’ll easily believe either.

  6. References is NOT political suicide, RELIGIOUN if you have not noticed is making a huge comeback, being placed back in public schools, public buildings, all thanks to some pretty big supreme court cases in recent years. I love the fact that we have Public Prayor, get to say PRAYERs inour schools, and place Baby Jesus in the front yuards of City Halls.

  7. Mike, prayer has never been banned in school. It is a political talking point for Repugs, just like CRT (never thought in SD public schools) and trans athletes (I think we have had a total of 3). I was taught that God is all knowing. If a student wants to pray they can. It’s when teachers instruct the kids to pray in public schools out loud is when we have a problem. Personally, I could care less either way, I agree you have a 1st amendment right to do it, it just can’t be forced.

Religion has been on the decline for decades, and it will continue.

In 2020, 47% of Americans said that they belonged to a church, down from 70% in 1999. Nationwide Catholic membership increased between 2000 and 2017, but the number of churches declined by nearly 11% and by 2019, the number of Catholics decreased by 2 million people.

  8. God called him to become mayor? Mayors for this city are insane by the end of their terms. It takes years for them to realize they’re crooks controlled by a few developers. They’ll need God hoping to be forgiven.

  9. apparently, this part of the bible no longer applies in today’s republican party.
    Matthew 6:5-6
    New International Version

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

  10. Attacking Loetsher financially is no surprise. The city sought my bank accounts when I went to court against them. Local banks respond to city inquiries. I live at the corner of 4 states. Banks out of state ignore them. When dealing with the city, remember that they’re criminal. If you run for office against their candidate or oppose kingpin policy, you’re subject to a HIT.
