Siouxfalls.business held their first CEO summit today. The guest speaker was Kashkari from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Some highlights of his appearance;

• Immigration is important to our economy and we must work to make it better and more common

• Innovation comes from looking at what others are doing that works (don’t reinvent the wheel)

• Crypto currency is useless

• Childcare will ultimately have to be subsidized by taxpayers to become more affordable

Neel talked about a host of several things and it is worth the listen.

  1. Neel Kashkari is a straight shooter and a conservative Republican. If you remember right, he came here in August of 2017 to speak to the SF Downtown Rotary Club, and then chided that audience for complaining too often that there were not enough workers at the time. AND, at that speaking engagement, Kashkari told the local SF business leaders in attendance that they needed to raise wages if they want more workers and quit complaining….. Wage collusion anyone? #IToldYouSo

  2. “Say VSG, wasn’t Billie’s running mate the president of that Rotary Club?”…. (“Yep”…. 🙂 )

  3. There’s a distinct lack of labor. Immigration is necessary. Immigrants (especially Hispanic) tend to lean toward voting Democrat.

    The CryptoCrash was inevitable. What’s troubling is the US Dollar is becoming second class for world currency. Euros and oil have become prominent barter. The Fed has been taking a look at Dollar value based on platinum. The dollar was sound when it was gold value. Now, it’s just paper. There’s no gold in Fort Knox.

    There’s no return to 1950ish family mold. Both parents must work. Ideally, one or the other should be the bread winner while one is homemaker. Families should be one income. Women won the battle of the sexes. More stay at home dads? More women white collar criminals?

  4. hey who put all these useless buy-crypto-here vending machines inside the Lewis stores?
