I guess there was quite the brouhaha yesterday on various Sioux Falls social media sites about this siding on the Cherapa Place Condos. Many complained and some worried about the rusting. It is actually a coating that looks like rust, but whatever.

It reminds me of that line in that Pretenders song about “corrugated tin shacks”.
“Say, did you see where the Argus is going to start sending its printed edition in the mail only?”…. “Yep, no more paperboys”….. “A.I. strikes again”….. (…. “Who do they think they are, the Weekly County Gazette?”…. (…. “AND, I wonder what Chris Elliot is going to do now? …. ))

Some designer had a patina nightmare that got forced onto everyone. You can always tell it’s designer when it’s ugly and doesn’t fit.
Did anyone see the pic of Noem at the border with a platoon of camo automatic weapons soldiers behind her? I’m assuming she’s worried about Latin immigrants because they’re democrats who would come here and turn the state Blue.
Also, last week, she’s invited gun manufacturers from CA to relocate here. Are we becoming a Trump insurrection base camp?
Come back some from war monger. We liked Rodeo Queen.
Could it be entered into the Sculpture Walk?
F&LiSF,
Yes!

I like the faux shipping container look.
TGfG,
What about: “Timber!”….. #ForwardSiouxFalls #Boom!(Jeb!?)
On second thought, is this the same developer who sided the Events Center?
I know that stacked cargo containers have become trendy in recent years and an answer for affordable housing, but in Europe they at least paint each one a different bright color….
These cargo shorts, I mean container architecture looks more like Slick Willie’s presidential library and museum:

I’ll respectfully disagree with the architecture critics in here, it’s a nice departure from the mass timber & ocean of concrete used for the shell. I was expecting some elements like this at the Steel District, but they are more into pre cast brick & glass it seems.
Love him or hate him Jeff Scherschilght & his design team puts out a nice finished product:

When I compare the Sioux Steel project to Cherapa I tell people it’s like comparing a Dollar General store to a COSTCO. The Steel project is beyond ugly. I told someone the other day that the Developer should change their name to RECTANGLE. It reminds of the episode of the Brady Bunch where Mike designs everything to look like his house.
