Larry Rhoden

A Generational Change? LOL!

We don’t have the tax revenue in Sioux Falls to make a generational change, and neither does Pierre.

So all week I was looking forward to just going out to a party on Friday night to hang out with friends and NOT talk about Sally or any politics. As I am walking out the door I get a text about Rhoden and Ten Haken’s ‘Generational Change’ coming to Sioux Falls and the announcement Monday morning. My guess is this was cooked up over the last couple of weeks because I know so many leaks in the Sioux Falls city government sinking ship that I would have been told what it was already.

So after the first text my phone started to blow up. ‘What is this?’ or ‘I think it is this.’ I gotta tell yah, I don’t have a freaking clue, but as I had discussions with folks we created theories and here are the TOP three;

• Convention Center

• Data Center

• Dumpling Factory

Heck, they might come out on all 3! Who knows. My top guess, and I am hoping one of my leakers fills me in before Monday, is the state will help fund a convention center thru low interest state loans. But how is this a generational change? It is not. A DATA center farm may be closer to a generational change, but that is also odd. And who can forget the millions the state and city gave away to bring in a dumpling factory that pays slave wages.

Just once I would love a politician to come to the podium and announce real change that doesn’t cost taxpayers a penny and is completely transparent. Who am I kidding?

How can you come out with such a huge announcement that has been shrouded in secrecy and expect people to get behind it? Rhoden is running for governor and if you see his latest poll numbers he may come in 4th in the primary and he is grasping at anything. Policy changes not expenditures make generational change. Throwing tax dollars into a burn barrel is not change, it is stupidity. But hey, a duck is a duck, and these ducks are walking us off a cliff.

What do you think it is? And if you have evidence showing exactly what this is, please send it to me, would love to make the announcement before them.

Rhoden and Jackley apparently don’t know what the 1st Amendment is

So Larry and Marty think they are cracking down on crime;

Governor Larry Rhoden is urging Attorney General Marty Jackley to investigate a new abortion ad campaign, appearing at gas stations across the state.

The ad campaign is being broadcast by Mayday Health, advertising abortion pills at 30 gas stations in 20 South Dakota cities.

Governor Rhoden specifically cites SDCL 22-17-5.1 and SDCL 36-4-8.

“All ad campaigns, no matter what the issue, need to follow state laws and fair trade practices,” said Jackley. “We will review these ads and determine if any laws have been broken. If laws have been broken, we will take appropriate action.”

The advertisement doesn’t perform abortions or dispense abortion pills it simply advertises a website where you can get help. They have a 1st Amendment right to advertise and the laws referenced above are about performing or assisting in abortions. Last time I checked a billboard can’t perform abortions.

While I know Rhoden is this stupid, I would think Jackley would know the US Constitution and Free Speech Rights. They could ask them to cease and desist, but they don’t have to comply. If they try to indict this organization it will be laughed out of court. They will likely get a stern letter from Jackboots and pull the ads. They have already served their purpose and by announcing this potential indictment you just gave them more press then they know what to do with. Idiots.

My bigger question is if the media will do a counter story about the 1st Amendment violations? You would think a news organization would be protecting their advertisers.

Who is really pushing the AI Data Center near Brandon?

I don’t know the answer to that question, but I am speculating that GOED (Governor’s Office of Economic Development) is pushing this project.

We know that the data center will drive up water and electrical costs for consumers in that service area. It will also NOT create hundreds of jobs. For example, ADP has a data center in Sioux Falls. Do you know how many people work there? It’s about a dozen. It will only create jobs for out of state contractors to build it. A friend who works on data centers all over the country (technical builds) told me you could actually operate the facility remotely and have a local contractor if they have to actually show up and do repairs etc. In other words it could create ZERO permanent jobs. Most data centers run this way throughout the world with a central command center instead of having individual command centers at the actual physical locations.

So why do I think GOED is behind this? I found it odd that Brandon rolled over almost overnight, so did the Sioux Falls city council and planning commission. Yes, they are all famous for rubberstamping, but I have never seen this kind of unification behind a project unless someone has the foot on the pedal and a boot up their asses, and my guess it is Rhoden pushing this (and he wears boots).

Ironically, it sounds like this may not have been even a project that was on GOED’s radar, but once dumped in their laps they are probably trying to claim a win.

I’m not naive, WE NEED DATA CENTERS and they have to be somewhere, but don’t approve a project because of pressure from the governor based on false promises from a shadow foreign LLC, especially a governor that is even dumber then the person(s) who appointed him. What a Larry!

Our Constitutionally Inept Govnah got a lesson in the 1st Amendment today

This made my day;

“At this stage, defendants have failed to put on evidence that Hook’s ‘speech had an adverse impact on the efficiency of the [University’s] operations,'” Schreier ruled. “…Defendants have not demonstrated that there was any disruption to on-campus activities, Hook’s teaching lessons, or the University’s operations… Such ‘vague and conclusory’ concerns . . . runs the risk of constitutionalizing aheckler’s veto.”

What baffles me is that I thought conservatives like Larry Buck were Free Speech Advocates, guess not, another conservative value thrown out like the trash, but what do you expect from a party that has a manure spreader as their leader?

Some advice to the professor; your definition of Kirk was woefully incorrect. Nobody uses ‘Nazi’ anymore, the NEW, DEI, WOKE version is White Christian Nationalist. Nevermind, I’m sure DEI programs were canceled on campus so you are required to use the proper definition of Nazi.

Operation Prairie Racism

Funny how Poop’s campaign logo looks a lot like the Governor’s logo.

President Obama with the help of Tom Homan deported 3.1 million immigrants. He didn’t put together spiffy logos, he didn’t call in the Marines, he picked up people, put them in front of a judge and then sent them off, this is how deportation is supposed to work. When we put our RACISM on display, it won’t end well. We can legally deport people, as demonstrated by Obama without all the goofy press conferences and made up BS about gangs and drugs. If you are here illegally, arrest them, and let them have their day in court. This doesn’t have to be a chaotic circus folks. As for Rhoden concocting this, no surprise, just another ignorant West River person who wears their racism on their sleeve.
