The Goobertorial Debate. Sleepy Town.

Besides a couple of quips on either side – it was the pretty boring expected BS.

Here’s some highlights;

Doogard went back on his promise to not take Federal education funding because him and buddy Mikey found out their was ‘no strings attached.’ Heidi-Scott jumped his ass about it.

Doogard did slam Heidi-Scott on being his own man, he said something like, “My name is Doogard not Rounds.”

They sparred over ethanol and education for awhile, but the Hyperion discussion was interesting. Heidi-Scott suggested that the state listen to the EPA (you know, that federal entity that tries to prevent poisons from circulating in our air.) While I did not agree totally with Scott and did agree a little with Dennis on this issue, I was a little confused about Dennis’ demonization of the EPA and talking about cow farts (methane regulation). I have often respected Dennis for not dragging out FOX News talking points, but this was straight out of the Ironic Johnny playbook. He avoided the air quality question by talking about cow farts instead of an oil refinery.

I don’t think either guy is ready to be governor. Which is unfortunate. Because either way you churn it, we will get another 8 years of do-nothing politics.

South DaCola book club w/ Hookers or Cake

Jade Bos used to live in Sioux Falls and live with my friends Rocco Tchetter and Sideshow. One day, Jade decided that he needed a coffee table for his room, so he tore the door off one of his other roommates rooms, put it on concrete blocks, and he had a coffee table, unfortunately, said roommate had to take his one set of sheets and use that as a door which forced him to sleep on his sweat stained mattress without sheets and forced the rest of us to have to view his ugly naked ass passed out on said mattress (his one set of sheets had a gigantic hole in them) It was like a peep show no one wanted to see. Thanks for the memories, Jade. Well, anyhoo, Jade just released a book that is associated with his website. Here is a sneak peak;

When Juggalos attack: A firsthand account of the Tila Tequila incident at the Gathering Of The Juggalos

(H/T – AV Club & Fagatron)

The question from the ground in desolate Cave-In-Rock, Illinois, home of the Insane Clown Posse’s annual Gathering Of The Juggalos (Juggalos being ICP fans), was not whether guest performer Tila Tequila would get abused during her set but rather how bad the abuse would be.

I had a friend attend this event a few years back, not for the lighthearted. (NWS)

I think they dropped more F-Bombs in 17 minutes then in the South Park movie.

Marking is allowed at today’s House Debate

I guess something changed, GOOD!

SLAMS OF THE DAY:

Herseth pointed out that Noem doesn’t understand the legislative process, and encourages her to “Stick to the issues.”

MARKING; “I’ve been snookered once, I won’t be snookered again.” (He was referring to the Republican party, and their failed plan, ‘Contract with America’.)

HERSETH-SANDLIN; She defends the healthcare bill, even though she didn’t vote for it, but does admit it will need some changes.

NOEM; Kristi slams Herseth over the deal she struck with the Democratic party to not repeal the healthcare bill. But Kristi gets off the rails when she starts talking about how much it will cost us, she first starts off by saying it will cost us $500 million, then she ends by saying it will cost us $1 trillion. So what is it? You can’t just throw numbers out there without backing them up.

ON REPEALING ESTATE TAX; Marking is on the fence, and doesn’t agree with a complete repeal, Herseth thinks we can’t afford to repeal it, but can reform it to help farmers and ranchers. Noem was crying about how her poor family (corporate) farm was hurt by estate taxes, all the while taking farm subsidies. So I guess it is okay for her to take from the feds but not to pay back in. Yet Noem fails to answer the question, and Herseth points it out. Marking goes on another rant about how great a Fair Tax is. Blah, Blah, Blah.

ON ENERGY; Herseth supports renewal energy and bio fuels. Noem blabs about Nancy Pelosi, again, and talks about how cap & trade is bad, but offers no solution. Marking sees energy independence as a national security issue. Herseth pointed out that Noem doesn’t understand the legislative process, and encourages her to “Stick to the issues.”

ON FARM SUBSIDIES; Noem says she would like to see more risk management programs then subsidies (yet her family continues to take them). Marking said subsidies are needed but should be focused. Herseth wants to lower subsidies but enhance the safety net through conservation.

INTEGRITY IN GOVERNMENT; Marking talks about advisory voting (while I like the idea, most people struggle with even showing up to the polls now every few months, let alone vote weekly on issues, it would require people to be actually know what is going on). Herseth blabs about veterans or something. Noem claims she will NOT change if we elect her. Uh, sure, you betcha! Herseth slams Noem over claiming Herseth doesn’t live in SD or ever come back here. She actually chuckles when talking about it.

In closing, Marking admits to being a Norwegian. Well he just lost my vote 🙂
