Pour a slab of concrete next to your driveway? $300 fine and $40,000 in legal fees.

Don’t trim a city owned tree in the boulevard? $150 an hour.

Dump over 10 million gallons of raw sewage in the Sioux River? $10,000 fine.

  1. That was a buck for 6,000 gallons of poop. They could make money selling it for fertilizer- more than enough to pay and fine AND build the shitty events center.

  2. Have to see what happens now with all the crops SF ruined by the great flush of 2010. Acres of crops flooded downstream not fit for animal use.

  3. There won’t be any long term impact because in the scope of things this is less than a drop in the bucket.

Heck – it might be cheaper to pay the fine in the future rather than the millions to improve infrastructure. Truth be told $10,000 probably isn’t even enough to service the annual debt on a bond issue to fix the underlying system.

So really this solution stinks (pun intended)… but only to a certain degree, and only if you happen to live downstream and like to go swimming in the river.
