Oh the timing of this article couldn’t be more dubious;
The butterfly effect is the idea that a small action can lead to a large and unpredictable change in the future. As a talent acquisition coordinator for the city of Sioux Falls, Ethan Beck finds pride in knowing he plays a small part in the onset of that ripple effect.
Notice the piece is sponsored by USD, and NOT the city, and comes after I have exposed the blatant nepotism at city hall and after Mr. Beck’s Mom decided to resign as COS to either run for mayor or run some one else’s campaign. Sure, the kid has a great resume, but I’m sure there are a hundred candidates just like him in the region that could have done the job, and didn’t need mommy to help them.
Well, have you seen the new Dusty Johnson, Mayberry RFD commercial, where he gets out of a “dusty” pick-up to say hi to a farm family that is proudly waving their Trump flag? Yes, that’s the same Trump that Dusty once said he was never going to try to defend everything that Trump says on Twitter. AND, in this commercial he talks about Trump being hard on China and how that’s a good thing, which is amazing, because isn’t this the same Dusty who once worked as the Chief of Staff for a governor’s office which was soft on China and liked the EB-5 program realitive to China nationals? A program that I might add, which caused the FBI to investigate South Dakota’s involvement in, which then caused Dusty to immediately resign as CoS and head out of town. Oh, and isn’t this the same Dusty and China, where Dusty as an once PUC member was full force in favor of the once Keystone Pipeline, which if implemented, would have only made America a conduit for nasty and toxic Canadian tar sand oil, which would then be shipped to our Gulf via that pipeline for further export to Red China?…. Yep, that’s the same Dusty and the same China, but what’s changed, Dusty? ….. Toby, are you following this, what do you think? #MayberryRFDDusty #DustyPickup #TimeForABroom&ADustPan

It’s nice that he recognizes the impact he has on people’s lives, but when it comes time to exercise that authority, he hires his neighbor that he had a relationship with. That’s not a random butterfly effect.
A bit of potential embellishment from the USD Alumni Office on behalf of Mssr. Beck: “… eventually as the lead talent acquisition recruiter for the regional hospital system’s Sioux Falls location. ”
I’m thinking either his ability is pretty awesome such that a young lad only a few years removed from USD is the lead recruiter for the Avera Sioux Falls location. Or, the Avera Human Resources department is the equivalent of a fast food business, where “Joe” a veteran of all of 3 months of employment is elevated to Assistant Manager the result that he is longest tenured remaining employee.
Turns out, he was Lead Talent Acquisition Recruiter by title. A Lead Talent Acquisition Recruiter, not necessarily THE lead talent acquisition recruiter.
This has been so unprofessional by the City administration to allow. Unprofessional Erica Beck. UEB. Also know that lately, the City pushes for women to be in leadership roles, even if they’re not qualified. Its an alarming trend.
