I love it when Republican SD Legislators argue against out-of-state influence when it is convenient for their agenda. Hansen said this about out-of-state petitioners and petitions that originate out of state;
We need to end the stream of lawless, out-of-state special interests trying to use our state as a guinea pig for their political agendas.
But Jon takes NO ISSUE with money and help from out-of-state if it supports the GOP’s twisted agenda;
Of course, such venom is reserved for organizations that threaten South Dakota’s GOP super majority. It was perfectly fine for out-of-state special interest group Americans for Prosperity (and ALEC), backed by the Koch Brothers, to wage an aggressive battle against IM 22 to the tune of $650,000, not to mention the steady legislative influence of far-right Christian groups such as the Family Heritage Alliance.
 Not only is Jon a hypocrite, he is also extremely ignorant.
I believe Republicans are also against outside money unless it can be used in a school board race, too.
“out-of-state special interests trying to use our state as a guinea pig for their political agendas.”
ALEC, Americans For Progress is an out of state group no matter how they try to spin it. It’s HQ is not in SD. Alliance Destroying Freedom is another. The Board of Regents is dealing with out of state bill factories in regards to these imaginary Intellectual diversity bills.
Another right winger who only wants one party in control.
Jon maybe a hypocrite on this issue, but most people are. They love to go against generic big money out of state spenders until they list an organization they like such as for you guys the ACLU, CAIR, NARAL, Planned Parenthood, etc.
