As you know, the SFPD like to ride their motorcycles down the bike trail even though they have some really nice E-Bikes that I assume are collecting dust somewhere. So today I saw TWO motorcycle cops on the bike trail. At first they were parked and digging around in the trees for transients, then they got on the bikes and took off going at least 30 MPH trailing each other. They did not have on any emergency lights or sirens. If you are going to an emergency GET OFF THE TRAIL. I don’t think the cops should be able to drive on the bike trail unless necessary for an emergency. You bought the E-Bikes for a reason! USE THEM!

Well, at least the cops are on the bike trail again. Seriously, I haven’t seen one cop on the bike trail since March of ’24, when the City Council approved the use of motorcycles, I mean class 2 e-bikes on the bike trail.
( and Woodstock adds: “Say, didn’t the City just get sued for injuries due to a high-speed chase?” ….. ( ….. “I knew the bike trail was no longer safe for pedestrians, runners, and traditional bicyclists, but this is some crazy shxt …. ” …. ))
