So while Thrive did help a lot of people and worked on some great studies, after looking over tax docs, (Listed below the 2024 info is info for other tax years: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017. Although not specifically identified as paid to Erpenbach, it looks like 2020 was the first year in which executive compensation was paid.) it makes you wonder if the Executive Director, Michelle Erpenbach, was more concerned about compensation over results.
Over 50% of revenue going towards salaries in 2024 with Erpenbach getting 16% of that revenue. How can an organization function when over 50% of revenue doesn’t go towards programming? Well, as we found out, it can’t.
Michelle learned from the best on how to draw a nice salary working for a non-profit without producing results.
“I have no time for the Dallas Cowboys, and to watch the following is very painful”….. “In fact, if the Cowboys played the Nazis, I would a course be required to root for the Cowboys, but I would only want them to win by one point”…. 🙁

You see this in politics, too. Often, statewide candidates will immediately hire a campaign manager when they have limited funds, and then they complain they don’t have any money and that they are on the phone all of the time, instead of campaigning, to raise more funds to pay their campaign manager. It’s a vicious cycle.
Cory wants to arrest Bad Bunny at halftime. But what if Kristi still has their handcuffs in her purse, that was once stolen? Or, will she be there, too, with her “Hot Cops” ICE uniform on?…. Talk about a kinky Super Bowl, huh? #TheBuccaneersVersusTheBroncos #Maybe ……:

Erpenbach’s entire tenure on City Council was spent serving the moneyed-interests in town and fulfilling an agenda which prioritized City spending for toys, at the expense of providing the core services of municipal government (from which all citizens, wealthy and poor, benefit).
Among her accomplishments while on City Council – to effectively reduce the usefullness of public transportation in the City, something which is important and relevant to the lives of those with lesser financial resources (“the poors”).
Given her service to the bougies during her City Council tenure, I found it an awkward fit in her post-Council life her seemingly newfound concern for the plight of the under-privileged. Was it contrition for 8 years of diminishing the standing of poor and middle class citizens in the City, while aiding the wealthy?
Naw? It was simply a way for Michelle to be “in charge” as an executive, tap her well-moneyed contacts for donations and grift her way to a six figure job.
Fiscal year ending September 2022 – the President/CEO compensated greater than $101K to “lead” a program which attracted less than $310K in revenue; had $344K in expenses?!?! Yowza!
Unions have “no show” jobs.
The wealthy in Sioux Falls who sit as Directors on the Boards of this type of non-profit organization and to whom $100K-200K in annual compensation is chicken feed have their own form of “no show jobs” which they endorse – executives of the non-profits which they oversee.
Getting paid for doing nothing has become characteristic for leeches associated with government. Charities are even worse.
It looks like Trump has gone missing again. He hasn’t been in public since Tuesday. But don’t worry, because if something happens to him, then this guy takes over:
