It was just a gift of time
that brought openness
to the affair
There were good words
There was peace
then alcohol and mock anger
After a cup of sweet coffee
a rough good good bye

I FONDLED THE FRINGES OF YOUR JACKET

YOU FINGERED THE FRINGES OF MY  MIND

Soft urine color on your coat

Brine taste on the lips

Magic to the senses and thoughts

The wind

The clouds

A field in view

The window in time will shatter

But not your love or sullen mind

Today’s  Automatic  Poem

I was gonna write a poem
but my mind and fingers stumbled
into the sun shiny day
and I could only perceive where
I should go
alone in a mind cloud to oblivion and
towards a big hamburger
that I want to give to the woman I love
if she would just appear
and tell me where the relishes go
because lunch is so important when
you are with a friend like that

If it rains
wear a hat
unless you need
wet hair
