Another one throws their hat in the ring for the SF Mayoral race

huether

I think I am ‘friends’ with this guy on FACEBOOK, but didn’t really pay attention, I think Epp sent me the invite;

FROM Epp

Sioux Falls businessman Mike Huether will run for mayor of Sioux Falls in 2010.

Middle Border Sun has learned this from a source close to the Huether camp.

Mike is a Yankton native and one of the top officers at Premier Bankcard.

I’ll have more details as I learn them.

I think Mike is a tremendous person and will make a topnotch leader for Sioux Falls. With skills in leadership, managing large budgets and numbers of employees, economic development, and a rags to riches personal story, he is a transformational leader. He has brought and will bring people together to keep the community moving forward.

Click here if you would like to join the Facebook fan page I’ve assembled for Mike.

I should probably do a little research on Mike and read his Facebook page, so I’ll keep my opinion to myself for now. There is one thing that does concern me though, his association with Premier Bankcard, this could be more of a detriment to his campaign then a positive. We have enough former credit card company shucksters in city hall as it is (Munson, Rowenhorst). We don’t need to go down that road again. I’m just saying.

Cheney supports gay marriage

gay grooms

Cheney said he thinks gay couples should have the opportunity to get married , but I think he is flat wrong about how it should be legislated;

“And I think that’s the way it ought to be handled today, that is, on a state-by-state basis. Different states will make different decisions. But I don’t have any problem with that. I think people ought to get a shot at that,” he said.

I have often said that social issues like gay marriage, drug legalization and abortion should be Federally regulated because they affect ALL Americans. If a gay couple gets married in a state that it is legal, and move to a state that it is not legal, is their marriage void? No, it wouldn’t be. If we are going to legalize gay marriage, legalize it in the entire country. If we believe in equal rights in America, it should apply to all 5o states. I think Cheney is taking an ‘out’ when it comes to this issue by calling it a state issue. Nice try though.

Cheney was wrong? Shocker!

It seems Dick is changing his tune;

“I do not believe and have never seen any evidence to confirm that [Hussein] was involved in 9/11. We had that reporting for a while, [but] eventually it turned out not to be true,” Cheney conceded.

You had the reporting, because you made up the reporting.

I was against the war in Iraq from the beginning. The evidence on the UN Weapons inspectors own website said that Saddam was not a nuclear threat. It was very, very clear that the Bush administration was fabricating intelligence. I suppose we could point fingers at a lot of people in the administration, but I really blame the media for cheerleading this war. And they wonder why no one reads newspapers anymore.
