The Birthers just won’t give up (H/T – Helga)

story

At least they got the color of his footprint correct

” …and she’s brought along a second forgery (visible above) that purports to be President Obama’s real birth certificate, proving once and for all that he was born in Kenya and is ineligible to be president.

As was also the case with the first forged birth certificate that Taitz tried, unsuccessfully, to introduce into a lawsuit in which she’s representing Alan Keyes and several other plaintiffs, this new document is a pretty obvious hoax.

It’s so clearly fake, in fact, that Jerome Corsi of World Net Daily — one of the chief promoters of the Birthers and their myths — has already debunked it. Taitz apparently obtained it from one Lucas Smith, who’d previously made several aborted attempts to sell it on eBay. Corsi claims that Smith has “a lengthy criminal record” and once “attempt[ed] to sell his kidney to a man in need of an organ transplant.”

Among other obvious problems with Smith’s document that Corsi pointed out is the format for dates used in it — the American style, not the British style, which presumably would have been used when Kenya was a British colony, as it was at the time of Obama’s birth.

The biggest issue with the document, though, is that its header reads “Mombasa, British Protectorate of Kenya.” In 1961, when Obama was born and this certificate was supposedly produced, Mombasa was a part of Zanzibar. (The claim of birth in Mombasa is illogical anyway, given where Obama’s family lives in Kenya, but it’s become part of Birthers’ conspiracy theories because the city is in one of the more Muslim parts of the country.)

New term to describe pundits who encourage teabaggers; POLITICAL TERRORISTS

I heard this on CNN this morning, and I have to tell you, it is my new favorite political term. A contributor from Huffington Post coined it while describing Glenn Beck and debating David (Big Fucking Lying Asshole) Frum after Obama fired the Green Jobs Czar for calling GW Bush a CRACKHEAD for wanting to drill for more oil (see video below).

Shape Sioux Falls 2035 – What is the big hurry?

ACBDE533B40248A08690FE0FF6A63BED.ashx

I find it very peculiar that in the last few months of Munson’s administration the city is trying to ram this plan thru. It is no secret, that no matter who is on the next council or sitting in the Mayor’s chair several department heads may be losing their jobs. Is this why they want to implement this before the Spring elections? I’m not sure. The current plan is effective until 2015. Don’t get me wrong, this is an important plan that needs to be implemented, but I feel it should be voted on by the next council and mayor at the end of 2010 after they thoroughly review it. I don’t think this city can afford to implement any more of Munson’s administration’s plans. Several councilors seem to be concerned that the next council and mayor may be too green. Councilor Beninga went as far as trying to extend some of the terms so that we wouldn’t have half of the council changing in 2010, claiming that it takes awhile for a new councilor to learn the ropes. I partially agree with him, but it depends on who that councilor is and their knowledge of city government. It would be like comparing Pat Costello to Gregg Jamison, both new councilors, but I feel Pat has grasped his job responsibilities a lot faster then Gregg has. Yes, change is scary, but it can also be a good thing. I believe the recession will last thru the end of 2010 in SF, and from all signs, it will get worse before it gets better. We need fresh ideas and a new perspective, and I think those new perspectives should be included in Shape SF 2035.

There is a public input meeting September 15 at 3 PM.

Substitute teacher pay increases in Sioux Falls

teacher-doris-day

Theresa Stehly told me today she is fighting for higher (competitive) substitute teacher pay. She is only asking it equals what surrounding communities are paying. Subs get paid $90 a day in the SF school district, she is asking it gets raised to $115. She has been contacting school board members and basically saying she would like to see them raise it on their own without getting the teacher’s union involved. There is approximately 600 subs in the SF School District.

Currently the Harrisburg School District pays $110 a day and Tea, SD pays $115 a day.
