Sioux Falls to move RR tracks by 2014?

Yeah, and pigs will fly, monkeys will come out of my ass, the rainbow unicorn park will be built and we will be opening the doors of a brand spanking new Events Center. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

However, city officials this month disclosed a new timetable that will have rail relocation design work and land acquisition completed by 2013. The downtown tracks will be reduced to two, and a new switching yard will be built by 2014.

So this changed from a static, non-plan to a timetable in a couple of weeks? Give me a f’ing break. This is just political horseplay by our mayor to get the ‘Build it Downtown’ people off his back.

Go get em Tiger!

Too little to late, IMO, when it comes to the hotel room tax increase in Sioux Falls. Leave it to the badass Argus Endorser Editorial board to scold our city government after the fact;

The board should narrow the options down quickly, however, and resist putting the money toward attracting new airlines or building a new events center.

Invest the hotel tax money into promotional efforts to get more people into Sioux Falls hotel rooms.

The strategy should be as simple as that.

Where were you before the city council passed this stupid tax increase? Did any one from your esteemed media empire ask city councilors what the money was going to be spent on? Nope. But you are sure full of ideas now.

A little birdy told me that an opposition group is seriously looking into getting an initiative on the ballot to overturn the tax. I’ll keep you posted as I know more. And NO I am not involved.

SOUTHERNERS

Why don’t you have sweet tea?

Why don’t you have white bread?

Why don’t you have country fried steak?

Your water tastes like piss.

Your fries are rinky dinky.

I want some of that chippy dippy stuff (Nachos).

I want my steak well done.

Three dollars is too big of a tip.

Ahem . . .

Why are you so ignorant?

Why are you so rude?

Why are you so un-kept?

Why does your wife look like you?

Why do you think you are funny?

There is a reason why the South lost the Civil War . . .

Tap the Catholics!

“Italian marble? How about we throw a little ice on it?” (Image; KELO-TV)

When people say that the private sector in Sioux Falls can’t raise a measly $10 million to build a youth hockey facility, I say, look at the minnow-munchers;

That’s why the ongoing $16.2 million restoration, preservation and beautification project means so much to him.

That’s right, the Catholics in our community and state somehow found a way to scrounge up $16 million, not to feed the poor or help the sick but to put in Italian marble in the cathedral. Wow! My point? I scoff when people say that we don’t have money in the private sector to build club sport, special interest, recreation facilities.

C’mon, dig deep folks.

SIDENOTE: As an artist, I am very excited about the restoration project, I have often felt that the cathedral is one of the most beautiful places in Sioux Falls and I can’t wait to see the finished project.
