Noem hasn’t even been sworn in and she is already a hypocrite

Thank gawd this video is only 3 minutes long, I don’t think I could look into those ‘deer caught in a headlight’ eyes much longer.

Noem claims we must cut spending but then turns around and thinks tax cuts for the extremely wealthy is AOK. She also goes on to blab about a healthcare repeal, and calls government interaction a ‘job killer’. Guess what Snooki? Not having healthy workers to employ is a ‘job killer.’

It amazes me that someone who cried about SHS’s husband being a lobbyist, turns around and hires a lobbyist for her chief of staff. And someone who doesn’t think government should get involved with healthcare because of it’s ‘costs’ puts her hand out for as many farm subsidies she could get.

This is going to be a long two years.

SF Ice Sports Association – About as clear as mud

I watched this video twice. And several things are very clear;

• Sanford has donated land for a new ice facility

• They formed a non-profit to collect private corporate donations

• They clearly explain why (they think) there is a need for a facility.

Where it gets a little fuzzy is at the end when they bring up ‘the city of Sioux Falls’ this could be a mirade of things. A TIF district? That’s cool. Or a substantial donation from the city plus a subsidy? I’ll say it again, if you want this facility to be successful and self-sufficient, which seems possible according to your ‘need’ argument, you need to keep the city’s money out of the deal. Taxpayers are tired of white elephants in this city.

I would love to see the ISA explain further what they mean by the ‘city of Sioux Falls’ involvement in the project.

I have a better idea, let’s get rid of telephone booth VL casinos all together!

What a great way to spend taxpayer money, fighting a failed experiment called Video Lottery;

City Councilor Vernon Brown said the Supreme Court historically has given cities wide discretion on land-use issues. He expects the residents of Sioux Falls would like to see the matter appealed, calling it a public safety issue.

Wouldn’t spending taxdollars on getting rid of this stupid form of tax collection (which probably costs us more in social costs, as you point out . .

“I don’t think we want to locate the businesses that get the most armed robberies next to elementary schools,” he said.

be a better solution? While I agree with the judge that the state has the right to regulate VL casinos, I think all of these suits prove that VL is costing us more then helping us. It’s time to put it back on the ballot in 2012 and get rid of it once and for all.

Working class Brits protest when unhappy w/government, Americans elect more idiots

Nevermind the Bullocks!

London (CNN) — Protesters enraged by a Parliament vote to triple university tuition rate caps, attacked a car carrying Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Thursday night.

The demonstrators broke a window and tossed paint on the car, however neither royal family member was injured in the attack.

The attack followed a vote in the House of Commons to approve a plan to raise the existing cap on tuition rates charged by universities from £3,000 to £9,000. In U.S. dollars, that’s a nearly $10,000 increase — from roughly $4,700 to $14,000. Lawmakers approved the plan in a 323-302 vote.

The vote ended hours of debate inside Parliament and an all-day protest by thousands of demonstrators outside who said the plan will price many students out of a university education.

While a majority of working class Americans continue to vote against their own interests – The Brits take to the streets!

Multi-Millionaire happy that more Republicans were elected to office in November

‘Don’t want to be SHAMED INTO SELFISHNESS? Sell tacos.’

I love it when big wheels in town write letters like this;

I am appreciative of the results of the November election. Maybe, just maybe, the outcome will make a difference.

We continue to have a president who is out of touch with what makes our country perform at its world-leading pace and seemingly is in over his head.

Until at least January, we still have a Congress that is even more selfish and less courageous than the people who elected them. And we have a Congress and a people who don’t understand the difference between doing the best thing for me and the best thing for we.

It is sad, maddening and even scary. As Americans, we are shamed by our selfishness, our lack of collective courage and our political behavior.

Yeah, this coming from a guy who had to have a specific rock from a specific Colorado mountain to build his fireplace, but hey, let’s call the rest of us ‘selfish’. Rich people complaining about our president is like Packer fans complaining about Viking fans. Expected and pointless. Go eat a taco Bill.
