I was watching a segment tonight about Noem and the 2nd Amendment and comments she made in her book;

Like most stuff in the book, total BS. I will confess I didn’t read the book, because ghost written books by politicians is usually boring and conflated, and I know all I need to know about Noem. But I found the above statement hilarious because it couldn’t be farther from the truth.

I participated in the BLM rally, I walked for a couple hours downtown but didn’t follow the protest to the Mall where a couple of latch key kids threw some pebbles at the police. Never saw a single biker all day. There was a motorcycle gang in Sioux Falls, but they weren’t the kind of gang that you want showing up to a BLM rally to protect police. I saw about a dozen of them hanging out DTSF the day before wearing their colors and jackets. They seem to be focused on drinking beer and not protecting police. They were a chapter of major criminal gang. There is also a rumor circulating that this gang was actually in town to commit burglaries during the protests. That one has been hard to prove since there is NO transparency in the police department. I also remember a flyer circulating on Facebook that a school bus full of Anti-Fa was coming from Fargo. That was pretty funny and surprised Noem didn’t reference it in the book. The day was beautiful and full of love. Like I said, I never made it to the mall, but the time I participated it was peaceful. There was NO bikers and NO anti-fa at the rally. The only problem was a couple of 8 year old boys that were bored at the mall, but that doesn’t make for an interesting narrative.

  1. There were no bikers at the Mall. I rode my bike from the Western Mall to the Empire Mall with the protesters (I live in the OG neighborhood). I was probably 100 to 150 feet away from the initial confrontation between the police and some of the protesters. I pulled back as the scene became ugly with initial rock throwing. When the protesters first got to the north parking lot of the Empire, they were gathered in the parking lot away from the Mall itself and there was a SUV amongst the protesters with big speakers and the protesters were dancing and congregating around this SUV and away from the Mall to the north, and it wasn’t until police cars began to show up from the west and around the corner from the east as a protective perimeter for the Mall, that the protesters then began to approach the mall, and then eventually rocks were thrown from the nearby landscaping islands by some protesters.

  2. The news video on CHANNEL 5 of the sidewalk geyser in front of JLBeers was VERY POOPY LOOKING.

  3. Shhh…(The Great DTSF Buses-of-Antifa Panic of 2020 needs to be quickly forgotten by everyone before this next mayoral election.)

  4. Now, was this geyser story done with a Burger Battle twist to it? AND, how do we know that this geyser was just not an early entry into the annual Sculpture Walk? Plus, didn’t Revelations warn us about the geysers amongst us? I believe they appear before the four horsemen, or was it right after the two Chick-fil-A?

  5. How funny, KDLT just talked about JLBeers and a geyser, while KELO turned into a Burger Battle story…. #ItNeverFails

( and Woodstock adds: “Say, maybe the Stormland Center could play off on this one by warning about icy conditions in downtown Sioux Falls, which could then be a pivot to a news story about ICE, huh?” ….. )

  6. “Say, when is Tea going to have a Burger Battle like Brandon’s? …… I know they lost their famous steakhouse down there, but they do have a new Taco John’s and a relatively new Boss Pizza” ….. 🙂 ……. #TacoBurger #TheBossBurger

  7. first mention by kelol:
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — JL Beers was still closed Thursday, according to a post on their Facebook.

Unforseen circumstances downtown led to JL Beers’ early closure Wednesday. Contractors on Wednesday and Thursday were working on what appeared to be utilities problem. Part of Phillips Avenue in front of the restaurant was closed to traffic Thursday.

Not much information is known at this time about the situation. Stay with KELOLAND News online and on air as more information becomes available.

    Now today’s update from kelol:

“JL Beers had to close after a line that delivers water to its sprinkler system broke.

“I think it was a pipe that froze and that water needed to go somewhere and so we were the lucky ones to have it come in to our location,” JL Beers General Manager Treyson Slate said.

Crews have been performing a thorough deep-cleaning throughout the restaurant.

“Making sure that we kill all the bacteria in the correct manner. Basically, all the things you pretty much need to do to make sure that you can serve food and have guests come in,” Slate said.

The water woes couldn’t have come at a worst time for JL Beers with just days to go in the Burger Battle and all the extra business that competition brings.

“The timing is not great. However, we feel like the only way we can kind of move forward is just to adapt and make sure that we’re ready and safe as soon as possible,” Slate said.”
