Whisk & Bee?
Is Applebees moving back into there old location at Whisk & Chop?
This was an agenda item on tomorrow night’s city council meeting;
I guess if we see them loading in a bunch of microwaves, we will know if it is true.

Nothing goes better together then an Old Stock Ale (North Coast Brewery) and a pipin’ hot chicken pot pie from Lick the Spoon!
There has been a lot of talk about a new coffeehouse in downtown Sioux Falls;
Friends,
I am proud to announce the beginning of Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Café, opening this Friday morning at 6 am here in Sioux Falls.
Located in the new Lumber Exchange Building, home of CNA Surety on the East Bank of Downtown, we offer phenomenal coffee, a long list of espresso drinks and a full menu of made-from-scratch bakery items. We also have a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner – including unique salads, wraps, grilled Panini sandwiches and personal pizzas.
Our website is live if you want to see more – www.josiahscoffee.com.
Our menu can be found at www.josiahscoffee.com/our-food/josiahs-menu/.
We are open:
Mon – Thurs, 6 am-8 pm
Fri – Sat, 6 am – 10 pm
Sun, 8 am – 3 pmAnd don’t forget, Friday night, across the street from Josiah’s at 8th & RR Center, is the first Downtown Block Party of the summer – from 6 am – 10:30 pm. Great food and entertainment will take place there. Stop by Josiah’s for pizza or other dinner items or coffee and our signature coconut cupcakes.
Saturday morning, come downtown to visit two great Farmer’s Markets – one at the Falls and one at 8th & RR.
Great things happening downtown.
All my best.

I talked to a politician this morning who contemplated the idea of starting a non-partisan political breakfast club at Steve’s place, I like the idea, you never know? Even Ellis was talking about it today.
My SouthDaCola foot soldier from the west coast (former SF resident) checks in on the Phillips Avenue webcam from time to time to check out our weather. She sent me this screenshot tonight and was wondering what it was. I told her about the legendary ‘Curb Belly‘ and my guess it was them. The owner used to be a regular at a DT restaurant I used to work at, and his cohort was the chef there, very talented. I suggest you check them out. They make gourmet food truck eats.
Gotta love Noem, there ain’t a lobbyist she won’t let influence her;
The letter does not detail what specific information FSIS needs to address, but says that LFTB-maker Beef Products Inc.’s “award winning trade record” and food safety record have gone unnoticed by critics “leading the campaign of misinformation.”
Thirty members, including Steve King (R-IA), Tom Latham (R-IA) Joe Barton (R-TX), Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) and Kristi Noem (R-SD), signed the letter, which can be viewed via the American Meat Institute website here.
This is an interesting TIMELINE of Pink Slime. I loved how the stuff got it’s name;
USDA microbiologist Gerald Zirnstein tours a BPI plant as part of an investigation into recent contamination. He coins the term “pink slime” in an email to colleagues, adding, “I do not consider the stuff to be ground beef, and I consider allowing it in ground beef to be a form of fraudulent labeling.”
Well, if that is the case, we better change the labels of most of the food on our grocery store shelves.
