Gov’nor Doogard wants citizens to live in a van down by the river . . .

Ellis’ editorial column was fantastic this week;

“The second night,” he said, “we borrowed my dad’s van, and we drove to Minneapolis. We didn’t have the money for another motel night, so we slept in the van. And it wasn’t one of those camper vans either. So I’ve lived frugally as a matter of necessity. So I see things that can be done in some areas where people think, ‘Oh, it can’t be done,’ just because they’ve never had to do it. So I don’t deny I’m a fiscal conservative, and I think it’s something South Dakota needs right now.”

Yet, his cabinet is staying at the Plaza. It’s funny how Rounds and now Doogard wants us all to eat dog food while they eat Filet.

I challenge Doogard to work for a reduced salary, or better yet, for FREE. Many politicians from Alexander Hamilton to even NY’s Mayor Bloomberg have sacrificed pay for the betterment of society. Apparently, Dennis wants us to sacrifice instead, while he expands his office.

Typical of the SD GOP.

Olbermann out. And you thought Libs ran the MSM. Grow a brain (H/T – Helga)

Word is that a deal was cut, and may have been mutual:

Keith Olbermann saw the handwriting on the wall with the new owner of NBC and cut a deal for his exit that will give him money and options — sources tell TMZ.

Here’s how it went down. Sources familiar with the situation tell us that Olbermann’s agent recently went to NBC complaining that Keith — who has the most popular show on MSNBC — was underpaid at $7 million per year. NBC execs told Olbermann’s agent they would not cough up anymore money.

Network execs were well aware that Comcast wanted Keith gone because he was “a loose cannon that could not be controlled.” It became clear to both sides that Olbermann’s days were numbered and they began negotiating an exit.

We’re told the exit deal wasn’t completed until just before airtime Friday night.

Under the deal, sources say Olbermann will get money but cannot appear on television for a certain period time — we don’t know how long.

Our sources say Olbermann will, however, reappear soon with a presence on the Internet.

Thune; Dead Last, just like our state. Oh the Irony.

Hey, Kids, Ironic Johnny isn’t running for President, get over it;

DERRY, N.H. – South Dakota Senator John Thune finished tied for last place in a presidential straw poll among state Republicans in New Hampshire Saturday.   New Hampshire holds the nation’s first presidential primary next year.

And as I have been predicting all along, Romney is in the lead. Do I think Mitt will win the nomination? We’ll see, but his chances look good now.

As expected, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney won with 35-percent of the vote.

As much as I would love to see Thune-Bag leave his senate seat, this isn’t what I was thinking.

Legislators want constituents to be charged with a crime for saying naughty things to them? (H/T – Duke Jr.)

I’m pretty sure this legislation has to do with ACTUAL THREATS but there is already laws that protect them (and us) against those things. The First Amendment is pretty clear, if I am not threatening you, I can pretty much say whatever I want to, to you.

Get over yourselves.

You are legislators in a state that is ranked last in almost every category. Not only do we not want to do you physical harm, we don’t want to even think about you or know you. You are embarrassing.

Funny how Dems and Repugs support this together. Just shows that both parties don’t have a clue about 1st Amendment rights.

Should we call this the SD Legislature Bullying law?

Is Mark Millage running for Litz’s council seat; Most likely, yes.

From my email box today, when I asked Mark if he was running;

Most likely, yes. I’ve lived in SF for 47 years, lived in the NW district for 27 years and have driven the district from one end to the other five days a week forever. I have a passion for helping people who can’t always help themself. It’s why I volunteer and have served on the boards of The Banquet, Red Cross, Volunteers of America, Make A Wish, Multi-Cultural Center and others. It sounds corny, but that’s why I chose journalism over engineering in college … a chance to do something that I enjoy and make a difference in my community. It’s why I left KELO after 25 years in 2008 to become President at Kilian Community College. And the beauty of my current job, besides getting to know such an interesting cross-section of our community, is that I can pursue an opportunity like City Council. And, for the record, I was the guy (as news director) who added your blog to the KELO web site. I’m not responsible for whatever happened after that. All I can say is, keep up the good work. I enjoy your observations and sense of humor. Sorry to be so long-winded. I hope to meet you sometime.

Mark

I have told Mark I will remain neutral on the appointment, unless some dream candidate drops from the sky.
