It fit. A Noem attempt to to be nationally known and relevant shows how pathetic her national image actaully is.

Governor Dick Kneip once co-hosted SNL, while Governor Noem becomes a joke on it, that’s fitting:

“Say, I didn’t really appreciate that New York Jets reference”… “Hell, without Namath the NFL wouldn’t be what it is today”… “Namath was the Dennis Rodman of the NFL and before Rodman”…. “AND, Namath made the Super Bowl what it is today”…. “Pantyhose and all”…..:

They forgot her Wranglers with the Skoal circle on the back pocket. Why is it that tobacco that’s available everywhere is worse for you than MJ? She can’t kill babies, just pot stores.

Pop culture attention like this will only serve opportunity for her to burnish her claimed bona fides as a ‘victim’ (unfortunately).

“The liberal eastern media continues to attack Governor Noem, misrepresenting the freedoms enjoyed by South Dakotans.”
Ian Fury, probably.

In the game show skit (and likely just for ‘Very Stable Genius’), the seemingly obligatory gratuitous reference to Dua Lipa!

That was the lamest part of a lame skit. I see why I haven’t watched SNL in years. Very telling lib’rals going with TRUMP instead of Xiden. Is it too mean to make fun of dementia patients? If so, do Harris, that should be easy?

“Yep, Dua is everywhere!”…. “We should have ran her for Gov, I tell you!”….. “Not only does she understand freedom better than Noem, Dua can also cook like Rachel Ray and she knows how to roast instead of being roasted”….:

Hope they do some funny Alec Baldwin skits this year. I mean, Trump never killed anyone….

“Say, is Trump ever going to make that movie about 5th Avenue?”…. “Or, is that just like his health care plan?”….

It’s a sketch, not a skit. You rubes are still upset that Hee Haw doesn’t come on after The Big News anymore.

That show is still on? Last time I watched it John Belushi had just finished his final episode. About the last time it was actually funny too. And yes, I’m old.

The ballot this year is very clear. Don’t want to live in a fascist state? Vote straight dem from top to bottom.

I’m so old that I remember when Hee Haw came on during the Saturday night prime time hours. AND, does anyone remember the news magazine show ‘Weekend’, which aired in the SNL time slot once a month – else Carson reruns – before SNL came along? Or, the one year appearance on SNL of Gail Matthius, a Sioux Falls native, as a member of the SNL cast (1980-81)?

How about late night during the week with the ‘Tomorrow’ show with Tom Synder? Janklow was on that show once, when he was still AG, bragging about his oral arguments before the SCOTUS, which led to a Vermillion case broadening the allowed definition of plain view for officers during traffic stops and the eventual inventorying of detained vehicles. AND, they have been looking for Mary Jane ever since:

“Say, I wonder what the SD Highway Patrol found when they inventoried that beige Cadillac back in 2003″…. 😉

Weekend is to blame for my love of punk rock as they did a “shocking” expose of the Sex Pistols in one of their first episodes. I loved everything about it.

#17 VSG on 10.06.22 at 2:36 pm

Yes, that was my first exposure to punk rock as well. I also remember a story they did about the conflict in then Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) between a ruling white minority and the black majority, which opened my eyes to the brutalities of guerrilla warfare and apartheid as a young teenager. Weekend was NBC’s attempt at 60 Minutes, but it should have been given prime time airing back in the day, then maybe it would have lasted.
