Nuke your favorite city

mushroom-clown-ps3

An interesting google site allows you to see the possible effects of a nuclear bomb on any city in the world. It’s kind of fun to play with.

HERE it is.

It starts with a 1kt suitcase nuke and goes all the way up to the 50mt Tsar Bomba, which if detonated in DTSF, would annihlate everything as far away as Luverne.

Also, you can apparently buy anything on the internets these days:

No wonder ‘Deliverance’ was filmed in the South

The South Carolina governor decided to take a hike. To bad he didn’t take our governor with him;

Sanford’s whereabouts were unaccounted for Monday when he stepped out of the public eye following a bruising session with the state Legislature. Even his wife, Jenny, said she did not know where he was, The Associated Press reported, according to The State newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina.

State Sen. Jake Knotts, a fellow Republican and adversary of Sanford, told CNN that South Carolina law enforcement officials informed him Saturday that the governor had taken a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division vehicle on Thursday and had not yet returned.

“I found out that he was taking frequent trips at odd times of the night in a SLED car with no security,” Knotts said. “He would be driving. I got wind that he had taken another one of these types of capers last Thursday, and that nobody knew who he was with.

Sure it wasn’t Billy Bob Janks?

State Senate Minority Leader John Land, a Democrat, accused Sanford of engaging in “erratic” behavior.

Well, he would fit right in in Pierre. Isn’t it strange how he resembles Jerry Apa . . .

Oh the irony . . .

bethditto_nme_nude

After Angry Guy posted a link to the above picture today, it got me thinking about a post Dakotawomen did a few days back about the media’s obsession with Beth Ditto’s weight instead of her talent;

On NPR’s website, former Sleater-Kinney guitarist/singer Carrie Brownstein discusses press coverage of The Gossip and their lead singer Beth Ditto, which focuses almost entirely on Beth Ditto’s weight, rather than her undeniable talent. She looks at a review by Elizabeth Day of The Guardian, which mentions Ditto’s weight and body size throughout, and even uses food metaphors to describe the band (Beth is compared to cheese, while the band is compared to a club sandwich).

While I agree that people should be judged on their talents not their looks (men and women) I find it ironic that the photo(s) of Ditto obviously had the cellulite photoshopped or airbrushed out of the photo like some bogus Senior picture. If Ditto truly wanted to be ‘shocking’ about showing her (very large) naked body, I suggest she does a photo shoot, warts and all.

I’m still trying to figure out how they convinced Playboy’s graphic designer to clean up the photo.

If you don't 'Give a Shit' why do you keep blogging about it?

Kristen Schall, just one of my favorite ‘babes’

I think Dakotawomen or woman, or whatever they are calling themselves these days should change the name of the site to, ‘Wrong side of the bed’. In their latest post about ‘sexism’ on the internets this line really made me laugh (not sure if it was sarcasm though);

Honestly, the objectification of women through the media or porn or bloggers or whatever is not really high up on my list of threats to the future of women or humanity. If some dude wants to put some scantily clad girl on his blog and drool over her, frankly, I could give a shit.

Then why do you keep blogging about it?

But I did like this bullet point;

People who like to present themselves as snarky and sarcastic, but have no ability to detect snark or sarcasm from others.

I couldn’t agree more, one of my biggest pet peeves.

That's all we need, another Republican D-Bag

.!.

Another conservative that doesn’t know WTF they are talking about

I’m glad there is people dissenting our president. I encourage it, in fact. I think he has made several mistakes since he took office. For instance hiring lobbyists to work in his administration. But really, if you are going to criticize him, stop using the same old bullshit talking points;

“Everything Obama has recommended has turned out to be disastrous,” (actor Jon) Voight said, before listing the economic stimulus package, government-owned car companies, rising unemployment, Israel and health care. Voight said Obama “turned out to be radically liberal,” and said Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Obama adviser David Axelrod, among others, are to blame “for the downfall of this country.”

Hoodwinked! movie WHAT!? I think Obama was pretty clear that it would take 16-24 months for the stimulus package to really start working. As for the other crap you are talking about, Jon, Obama has just begun to dive into those issues.  And I may not be a 100% behind his healthcare plan, I do agree with his stance on Israel, they do need to stop building illegal settlements.

When are the Republicans going to realize if they keep complaining about a (popular) president without facts to backup their ridiculous claims they’ll continue to lose party members. In droves.

Keep talking.
