Hey, Ellis! I thought pissing off Mayor Huether was my job?!

I couldn’t agree more with Ellis’ column this week more. The Events Center vote will fail, because those who care about fiscal responsibility and low taxes will always show up to the polls;

Voters in the Staggers Brigade do not look kindly on big, expensive government projects that hold the promise of future government subsidies. They want their city government to provide good, basic services rather than circuses.

You also forgot to mention monkey crappers. I think we want more then good basic services. I also believe in funding social issues, such as the homeless. I also think parks should be funded and maintained.

Passing the idea will be hard enough, even if it appears on a general-election ballot.

While I agree, passing it will be tough, I also think the best chance is this Spring, special election, by itself. Pull that bandaid off already and stop throwing taxpayer money in a burn barrel on different ‘options’. Tell us how you will pay for it, and let us vote.

SF City government; so predictable.

The Ugly Table (#18)

A BUNCH OF FUCKING DEMOCRATS!

Over a few (several) glasses of Chardonnay and in between Botox treatments she blabbers about Obama’s socialism.

As the bartender Jake expresses his feelings on the public option.

(in between his cackles, his limp and adjustments of his Kramer hair)

He wonders if the working man will ever get his day.

As she wonders if she will still get over compensated from the healthcare industry next year.

She declares, “You are a bunch of fucking Democrats!”

Oh, you poor little rich bitch, how dare you are not allowed to make a profit on the sick and dying.

So who is the CEO at the Pavilion now?

In something I just noticed, there seems to be a CEO and an Interim CEO of the Pavilion. According to the Pavilion’s website, Larry Toll is the President (CEO), while Jane Hathaway is the VP;

President: Larry Toll, ltoll@washingtonpavilion.org

Vice President, Finance: Jane Hathaway, jhathaway@washingtonpavilion.org

But according to the City of SF website, Jane is the CEO;

Jane Hathaway, Interim CEO
Washington Pavilion
301 S Main Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104
605-367-7397 Ext 2310
jhathaway@washingtonpavilion.org

While I can understand why Jane may be the contact for the new board member, I’m curious why she is being called CEO? It could be something as simple as miscommunication with the city as of her title, or it could be that Larry jumped ship. I’m sure once the Pavilion spies see this post, they will work quickly to fix one of the webpages.

Merry Christmas with the Blues Bashers and Chuck Luden

CHRISTMAS  ESCAPE

I’m in orbit

You know what I mean

Like gone man

The music sends me there

Where is she?

I’m walking alone

Perpetual what?

There yeah now

Wow!

Note: One night after a poetry reading at the Horse Barn some of us went to Grille 26.  I opened my notebook and read this poem to the group.  Another poet at the table (M.J.) said, “What does that have to do with X-mas?” I guess my Christmases are unique. – C.L.
