Well you know what they say, you catch more bees with honey. Senator Thune said this about the 2nd attempt to address the trade war, “We know that the president likes to eat crappy food, so we thought this would be a great follow-up letter.”
I asked Thune since he was 3rd in line for GOP leadership in Washington couldn’t he just pick up the phone and call Trump?
Thune seemed confused and said, “Interview over.”
I was pretty surprised to hear Noem put out a robo call for TenHaken. I would think being involved with a governor’s run she wouldn’t want to complicate things. Her call I guess.
So the bigger question is what does John Thune think of the race? He is a Sioux Falls resident, his wife I believe works for Sanford. Wouldn’t he have an opinion?
You would be surprised what that opinion is.
First the facts. Mud Mile, Jolene’s advertising agency has done video/campaign work for Thune for years, NOT Clickrain. In fact Thune and his wife consider themselves personal friends with Jo and Nate. The TenHaken’s? Not so much.
I guess there was a early discussion whether Thune would endorse Loetscher, but I guess the Loetscher campaign declined. Why? Good government and common sense. I think Loetscher wanted to keep this a non-partisan race but the TenHaken campaign has decided with the endorsements and postcard from the area GOP, the Jackley press release about nothing and the Noem endorsement, that idea went off the rails. They have run a successful smear campaign making Jo look like a uber liberal victim. But that’s what the SD GOP does best, hide from the real issues and throw mud.
I would encourage Loetscher to except the Thune endorsement if he is still willing to give it, and truly show she has support from both sides of the aisle.
And without getting into to much detail, I will say, while Thune may be undecided on whether to endorse his friend Jolene, he certainly WOULD NOT endorse TenHaken. And if you can’t get the endorsement of the TOP Republican in the state that lives in Sioux Falls, it really makes you take pause, doesn’t it?
I guess John was rumored to have said this to a Sioux Falls constituent recently. I guess this person was talking to John Thune about parking issues in his neighborhood and John told him to call Theresa. I know I have accused John of not knowing too much, but at least he knows who is working for the citizens of Sioux Falls.
You know, because if the rich get tax cuts they will pay more . . . LOL. It amazes me how the GOP continues to sell that BS lie.

But sometime, between now and the end of the August recess, they’ll need to put their big-boy, big-girl pants on and hold some town halls. They need to show the state’s voters that they can stand down blubbering bounders, paid provocateurs and those who are genuinely concerned. They need to have the courage of their convictions to explain why Obamacare must go and why its replacement is better for the country. Because if there’s one thing people dislike more than a hypocrite, it’s a coward.
This is why I often tell people to get involved with local politics, DC is just full of silliness. These three could care less how the average South Dakotan lives their lives. Noem pretends to care on occasion because she wants to be governor, but Thune and Rounds have been disconnected for years. Of course the Stooge protectors say this is a setup for the left wing to attack them. First off, if there is a ‘left wing’ big enough to attack people in SD, please point them out to me, I would like to meet them, and secondly, this isn’t about just attending a left leaning town hall, it’s about having ANY town hall that is held in front of the general public.
