The best part about the Rodin exhibit at the Pavilion? It’s FREE!

Auguste Rodin’s “The Thinker” is one of 62 of the French sculptor’s works that will be on display May 9 through Aug. 1. Art exhibits of this magnitude are rare in the state, and area students, artists and others celebrated the announcement Tuesday.

This is pretty exciting, even if these pieces are merely casts. I had a chance to see some of Rodin’s work in Atlanta a few years back, cool stuff.

Before the renowned European sculptor died in 1917 he donated his estate to the French government, as well as the right to produce original casts of his sculptures posthumously. On exhibit at the Pavilion’s Visual Arts Center will be castings from his original work.

Gawd, wouldn’t it be great if Sioux Falls had a cast of a sculpture by a great artist . . .

Most Americans that complain about too many taxes likely pays very little taxes themselves. Our roads, bridges, and other infra-structure are crumbling. Our healthcare system is a disaster. Do you think this can be fixed with less money into the government coffers?

Augustana & the Gargoyle Leader to host a ‘real’ economic forum

Hey guys! Our fine councilor Greg Jamison already had one of these and he made a list and everything.

“Ready to Rebound” is planned for June 3 on the Augustana campus, 2001 S. Summit Ave., leaders of both organizations announced at a Tuesday news conference.

Don’t forget the ALL BEEF hotdogs and a wireless microphone.

“We really see this conference as a way to give back to these businesses,” Beck said.

Since we have been robbing them blind for years in advertising rates and sophmoric food reviews.

Breakout sessions at the conference will include panel discussions with local business experts in marketing, real estate, finance, human resources and technology and the Web.

Huh? You mean you actually have an agenda? I thought all you needed to hold one of these events was an empty room at Carnegie Hall, a pot of coffee and aÂ dozen sticky buns.

The whole event will end with an uplifting and inspirational speech by a Sioux Falls city councilor’s wife telling us how blessed we are and reminding us to be positive (even if you are lying).

BTW, don’t forget, real people die in floods unless we build an event center that centers around giving tax cuts to developers and building more parks.

“You say you wanna revolution? Put the guns away- we’re loading up on hotdogs and wealthy quacktorpractors!”

“If they ignore us this time, they’re gonna see aÂ REVOLUTION by next year, I feel,â€ Unruh said.

I guess the fine doctor(?) has become a radical pro-choice or gay marriageÂ activist.

It’s a protest of historic proportions and meant to send a strong message to the President, Senators and Representatives.Â Organizers hope Tea Parties on Tax DayÂ will raise awareness about excessive government spending.

Yes, because nothing isÂ more revolutionaryÂ then rich people protesting and eating hot dogs. FIRE THE CANNONS and FIRE UP THE GRILL!

“We need tax relief.Â We don’t want higher taxes, we cannot punish the people who create 98 percent of the jobs,â€ Allen Unruh said.

Like them poor abstinence educators? I’ll give Allen credit for this statement, at least he is being honest about being against taxing the rich. Which I still find hilarious. 90% of Americans have gotten a tax cut, the government is FINALLY spending taxdollars domestically, the Iraq War (hopefully) will be over in 2010, and Obama plans to cut the deficit in half in 5 years by increasing taxes on the weathly (the best and most effective way).

And that’s really what they are protesting. So you would think this tax increase is enormous by how radical they are acting. Yeah it is pretty shocking. The tax rate is going to go from 35% to 39%. Yup, a whopping 4%! Whoa Nellie! The country will crumble.

The neocons are not fooling anyone. This is an anti-Obama, anti-Democrat rally. Plain and simple.

I’ll be waiting for the revolution . . .Â in my lawn chair.
